Re: Weight Watchers
I love this period of the year, but all this eating and drinking doesn't help any sort of diet, and I have the will power of a gnat, which doesn't help. I am trying not to eat between meals, and I am drinking as many glasses of water as I can (instead of any high calorific drinks).
I am trying to be careful during the week because the weekends offer too many Christmas nights out. (Could always say no, of course, but I'm to sociable).

Re: Weight Watchers
Strangely, the time of year makes no difference to me: I have no Xmas do's of my own to attend and OH's employer never includes partners/spouses when there is an event for staff. OH has yet to make any mince pies (I've tried suggesting he practises his sherry trifle, but he says he doesn't need to - shame!) and I've resisted the temptation to b*y my seasonal favourite, which is mulled wine. At this rate I might end up consuming nothing festive at all.

I'm with you on this Andrews. Tomato and Mozzarella Arancini with Rocket salad and aged balsamic vinegar
Filo pastry parcel with chestnuts, leeks spinach, Lancashire cheese and a roasted red pepper coulis
Sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.
It was divine
I fear the worst weight wise

Re: Weight Watchers
Good morning still feeling stuffed from last night but I'm on another Christmas do today
its a lunchtime one and its here http://www.kro.co.uk/file_download/100/Xmas+menu.pdf I'm having the pate, turkey and Christmas pudding
then as soon as we have eaten we have to go for a staff meeting and an update on bandaging legs - I don't fancy bending down after a large lunch bandaging or cocking my leg up to have it bandaged especially in a dress
I know that ejwrank thinks I can do anything in a dress but this is pushing it
this is because work won't let us finish an hour early after our lunch (we do p*y for our lunch so our only perk is we're allowed an extra 45 mins to eat it).
Hope everyone else is being better behaved than myself. Keep posting then we can see how everyone else is managing over the festive season.

Am quite sure that having your leg bandaged whilst wearing your lovely frock (with a full tummy of Xmas goodies) will be a wonderful sight, Diane65! I trust you will be running home afterwards.
Enjoy the parties--especially the puddings.

Re: Weight Watchers
Just recieved this from one of my old female friends so thought I would pass it on.
Merry Christmas To My Female Friends
If I were ol' Santa, you know what I'd do
I'd dump silly gifts that are given to you
And deliver some things just inside your front door
Things you have lost, but treasured before.
I'd give you back all your maidenly vigor,
And to go along with it, a neat tiny figure.
Then restore the old color that once graced your hair
Before rinses and bleaches took residence there.
I'd bring back the shape with which you were gifted
So things now suspended need not be uplifted.
I'd draw in your tummy and smooth down your back
Till you'd be a dream in those tight fitting slacks.
I'd remove all your wrinkles and leave only one chin
So you wouldn't spend hours rubbing grease on your skin.
You'd never have flushes and queer dizzy spells,
And you wouldn't hear noises like ringing of bells.
No sore aching feet and no corns on your toes,
No searching for spectacles when they're right on your nose.
Not a shot would you take in your arm, hip or fanny,
From a doctor who thinks you're a nervous old granny.
You'd never have a headache, so no pills would you take.
And no heating pad needed since your muscles won't ache.
Yes, if I were Santa, you'd never look stupid,
You'd be a cute little chick with the romance of a cupid.
I'd give a lift to your heart when those wolves start to whistle,
And the joys of your heart would be light as a thistle.
But alas! I'm not Santa. I'm simply just me,
Trying to generate some Christmas glee.
I wish I could tell you all the symptoms I've got,
But I'm due at my doctor's for an estrogen shot.
Even though we've grown older, this wish is sincere,
Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year.

Re: Weight Watchers
No Xmas parties here either ---long, sigh from anyone reading-- Diane65 is obviously taking our share!Ms Thrifty wrote:Strangely, the time of year makes no difference to me: I have no Xmas do's of my own to attend and OH's employer never includes partners/spouses when there is an event for staff. But I really do think you must be a bit more direct in your approach Ms Thrifty when it comes to convincing your OH to make you some treats. As your subtle approaches have yielded no goodies at all, can I respectfully suggest that you sit on the kitchen floor shouting "I want mince pies. I want trifle!" at the top of your lungs. Surely that would help. In our house it was always "I want chocolate cake" but I'm sure it would work for mince pies and sherry trifle too. Good luck and hope this does the trick.

Re: Weight Watchers
Love your poem Biggins - it brought a smile to my face.
Well its the dreaded weigh in today and I do feel heavier - I have Steve's birthday cake for my dinner last night after my Christmas lunch.
I think that some of the extra weight is still in my digestive system as I still feel like I have a pile of food in my stomach
Branflakes for breakfast (300 calories)
Ham salad sandwich, 2 satsumas, raspberries and a 50 calorie chocolate mousse (450 calories)
Going out tonight for a Christmas do but we are just having coffee and cakes as still feel stuffed (700-800 calories)
I will do my workout DVD tonight as I feel so uncomfortable with all this food in me
How is everyone else behaving?
