Re: Life of Pi
Saw this today...it nearly lost me at the bit with the goat! It got better after that......Some parts were just soo funny!! The visuals were stunning & i have to say this isnt my usual type of film however when a movie can make you feel emotions...(i had a tear at one point!) It gets a thumbs up from me 7/10

Preferred cinemas: Any in Edinburgh!

Re: Life of Pi
We enjoyed this very much and certainly more than expected from the trailer. Visually stunning, good use of 3D, just a little draggy in the middle but overall worth getting up for!

Re: Life of Pi
I saw this in 3D at Cineworld prior to release as a special preview screening for unlimited card members and thought was really good

Re: Life of Pi
Really liked this film.
3D was good, acting/CGI was good, storytelling was good and what violence there was, wasn't shown in too much detail.
I agree that the epilogue
(the way he tells the alternative version of events)
could be seen as the weakest part of the film but overall it's a double thumbs up.

I saw this at Panton Street today (finally!) and it was a great film - but Panton Street is an awful awful cinema. And it was an awful screening. So many people came in late and ruined the start for us.

Re: Life of Pi
1/2 empty Edinburgh. Thankfully it was warmer than Saturday, but no mince pies :-(
I enjoyed the story setting scenes, I thought they were really well done and perhaps another in the middle section would have helped a bit too for me as him alone with just the tiger, I found hard to concentrate on for too long as I kept thinking the tiger was CGI and that detracted.
I liked the 3D effects at the start, but they very soon vanished for me to a point where I didn't see the point of them at all, so that disappointed me. I guess the tiger in 2D would be pretty lifeless?
I enjoyed the film enough but not to rave about.
7/10 from me.
