Re: Wreck-It Ralph
I found Paperman adorable and Wreck it Ralph fun and very lovely. Lots of references for the adults (Alien, Kill Bill, anybody?) and I think a colourful enough story to keep the smaller ones entertained.
I was not convinced about the 3D though and would definitely recommend to catch it in plain 2D.
A very nice Sunday morning at the movies and a 8/10 from me

I think it's more a problem with Disney not having a system for cancellation set up unlike Sky & SFF.Rainey wrote:moggers wrote:I don't think it's allowing a family ticket that's the problem, people should return tickets if they won't be using them or pass them on to people who will. Only needing to remember one ticket when you are trying to herd a 3 year old , a 9 year old and a husband is a godsend lolLivi92 wrote:Quite a few empty seats at Holloway too. I think the policy of letting you book 4 tickets possibly needs rethinking...
Yeah, they certainly need to work on the cancelling system... and I didn't mean everyone should have an individual ticket, rather that it might be better to limit to 2 tickets, but I guess the reason they make it 4, is to cater for families, so I see your point. However, the fact that you can get 4 tickets mean if a few people with 4 tickets don't turn up, then you end up with lots of empty seats...

I also thought it was a good kids movie and they've done a great job making it appealing both for boys and girls. It's bright, it's funny and it does teach some life lessons for children. For me- job done! We've seen it for the second time today and were not bored, not adults nor kids, so I can highly recommend it as a family film!

Re: Wreck-It Ralph
I'm sure I've cancelled Disney tickets in the past, maybe by emailing them? Agree it should be easier/more obvious though.

Re: Wreck-It Ralph
I reckon you probably can cancel them by email, but I guess that a lot of people wouldn't go to the trouble of emailing them, because after all they didn't p*y anything for the tickets.. If they made it easier with a simple button you could press (link in the email) then I think people would be more inclined to cancel...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph
The whole point of previews is for word of mouth advertising, family films are offered with 4 tickets because they want families to watch them and talk to other families about them, hence the reason they offer 4 tickets, offering only 2 tickets would elimanate the audience they are targetting. I would have no idea how to cancel a Disney Screening, I think there whole ticket needs an overhaul really.
It seems Wreck-it Ralph is getting pretty mixed reviews here. We've seen it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times, as did the kids we went with today who were seeing it for the first time and they would all go and watch it again. I don't think we need to look to deeply for a message into these types of films.
It did depict the ages of video games well, there are some really, Sugar Rush is very similar to some of the versions of Mario Kart on Wii and Hero's Duty portrays some of the more violent games which exist these days.
All of us including the children enjoyed Paperman again, kids thought it was quite amusing with all the paper planes...... have had them flying all round the house all afternoon!

Re: Wreck-It Ralph
Saw this in Braehead with OH, OH's brother and wife. So really all children at heart. I loved Paper Man. Wonderfully made and a nice warm up to the main event.
I waited months for Wreck It Ralph. Even hoping to see it in Hong Kong in November but alas it didn't have it's release till December. Then last week of trying to get the code. Finally seeing it even though I should really be in bed as I haven't been 100% since Hogmanay. Was the film worth the wait? Most definitely yes. I loved it. It b*ght back memories of arcade games played when I was younger. Recognising the characters from games I played was fun. The story is simple but that's ok. And it looked stunning on the big screen. So bright and colourful. 8/10
P.S I have been playing Fix it Felix for a while now on Wreck It Ralph's Facebook page.
