Although I would have expected a bit more of an action movie, and it becomes a bit slow at some point, both the story and the actors are excellent, so i think it's definitely one of the best movies of 2012

Saw the preview of this. Amazing film - believe the hype. Watch out for it at the Oscars.

There's a few different elements to this film to make the story work, but all are balanced well and the flow is not affected. Really nicely done.

Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed it, as did my boyfriend, despite his hatred of any kind of "based on a true story" movies

I finally watched it last night (I know, I know, what rock have I been hiding under), and loved it. Impressive movie, great cast, story that proves real life is full of screen-worthy events. And even though you can easily find out what happened if you only search for iranian hostage situation, there is still plenty of tension while you watch it, which is I suppose a compliment to the filmmakers. I absolutely understand the hype surrounding it, I get why it's been nominated and winning awards, and am appalled that Ben Affleck was snubbed by the Academy.

Like Martadelas I too was a bit tardy to go and see this movie. Finally went last night courtesty of The Daily Mail and it was great! Had me on the edge of my seat even though I knew the outcome! Ben Affleck was outstanding and I really hope he gets recognised for this fine piece of work at the Oscars tonight.

Unfortunately, Ben Affleck isn't nominated for Best Director although Argo is up for Best Film.

I finally got around to seeing this last night, missed out the first time due to it being on DD Birthday meal.

I was glad I hadn't read much of this thread, I went in knowing very little about the film, though I should have remembered it happening :Embarrassed: I am not a great one for watching the new.

I really enjoyed it and it kept me on the edge of my seat when they were at the airport. I especially liked the credits at the end, I really like seeing real life comparisons in credits, makes it seem more real somehow. I would give this a 9/10 and I am glad I got to see for free at long last.

My only gripe was all I was distracted by all the people coming in late and wandering in the aisle with tickets in their hands searching for their seats in the dark instead of just sitting down in the nearest seat. I can only assume they are not used to free previews and were expecting the trailers to still be on.
