I missed a lot of the gaming references (I take decade long hiatus's from games, so I mis a lot of the good games) so I was befuddled when, for instance, half the audience laughed at say the Metal Gear Solid exclamation mark gag.

Clearly I have some retro gaming to catch up on.

I took my 9 year old daughter to see in on Saturday morning at 10.30 in Huddersfield and it was about 2/3 full. My daughter thought that it was great and would see it again. I enjoyed it - with the understanding that I was watching a children's movie - I wouldn't go and see it without a child but for family entertainment, it just hit the spot.

Really really enjoyed this, and it was the first time that i've been to Greenwich Odeon (which is probably the best Odeon i've been to!). The concept was brilliant, with the opening being particularly inspired, and the various video game references never failed to amuse. That pacman style transition from the Bad Guys Anon stuck out as the greatest moment. Even when Ralph steps into the inferior Sugar Rush level, i was truly hooked.

Here's my review. I liked it, but I didn't feel like it lived up the promise of its premise. They could have gone anywhere and done anything, but the majority of the film was spent inside the boring sweets world.

Also, I thought the scene where Ralph tortures Sour Bill was waaaaay out of order for a kids film.

Saw this on Saturday at Odeon Basingstoke, someone forgot to turn on the 3D at the start of the film! I thought the film was ok, definitely catered for kids rather than the 'grown ups' who had played these games as a youngster. Some nice little touches like the way Fix it Felixs' family move and reference to an old cheat that everyone knows! I give it 6/10

That seems to be a recurring theme - I saw it twice at Guildford Odeon (on consecutive Sundays as I enjoyed it SO much) and both times somebody forgot to turn on the 3D until I dashed out and prompted them.

As for the film, I really, really enjoyed it. I found it to be colourful, escapist fun. I thought the different environments were really realistic and well researched, very game-like if that makes sense? I know that's the idea but what I mean is that I loved the little touches, like how the music in Sugar Rush was just like real arcade game music, and the voices when the game asks you to pick a character. I suppose it took me back to my game playing days. Overall I felt it was immersive and vibrant and even a little bit emotional towards the end and I would heartily recommend to all my "grown up" friends.

I hope it is a box office success when officially released!

Saw this at the weekend with my 2 nephews, aged 5 & 7, and we all loved it! plenty of references for older gamers such as myself but still lots there for the youngsters to enjoy. Very good film, very funny and clever with a good message underneath!
