Re: Hitchcock
We were first through the door at Westerhailes this morning as we arrived at 10am. The tickets said 10.30 so wasn't sure if that was the screening time or the doors opening time. No one asked for the paper and we went straight in. Almost full just a few empty seats here and there.
Enjoyed the film and thought it better than expected. Helen Mirren was excellent. 7/10

I'm not old, i wasnt even a twinkle in my mammy & daddys eyes when psycho was released back in 1960Ms Thrifty wrote:A generalisation, but I get the impression that it seems to be the older members who have rated this more highly.

Re: Hitchcock
Odeon Greenwich was only half full this morning. Although the film was watchable and gave a great insight into the making of Psycho and the genius of Hitchcock, it did lack a bit of oomph to make it truly memorable. Loved everyone's performance, so overall 7/10.

Re: Hitchcock
I went to Vue Islington today for the 3pm screening, I arrived quite exited because I managed to get there on time that I even waved at Livi92 (I missed my bus and had to wait 10 min for the super slow 73) so if any1 from the forum was there and noticed a girl waving as soon as she got into the screening room that was me lol. hopefully no1 saw me
anyway about the film I think it was alright not the best movie Ive seen so watchable, had its funny bits and a nice ending, I felt a bit touched
7/10

Re: Hitchcock
Saw this at a pretty full Hamilton this afternoon. Mostly older people in the audience but there were a few who were children/teenagers.
This is was an interesting take of how Psycho came to being and also the relationship between Hitchock and his wife. There was a few funny lines and though it was a reasonable short film I don't think it should be any longer. 6/10

Re: Hitchcock
Watched at Hamilton this afternoon. Thought it was good and interesting but would agree with others that it was long enough!
Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren were excellent.
(Didn't recognise Ralph Macchio - OH spotted him!)

Re: Hitchcock
i enjoyed this but was very distracted by hopkins fat-face make up. his skin colour above the jowl was natural and below the jowl was orangey from the prosthetic make up. each time hopkins' face came up close i ended up searching for the join and got taken out of the action. really surprised they could not get at least a skin colour match.
loved mirren's role as alma. i went in knowing nothing at all about the director's personal life and was pleased to find that the man who loved a blonde on screen actually really loved an intelligent woman in life. i think i am inspired enough to look up his actual biography now.

Re: Hitchcock
Saw this earlier today. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The acting was good, but Anthony Hopkins voice was bugging me. I realised half way through it was because he sounded like Michael Caine (well to me anyway).
