FREE Spamalot tix for 'knights'
Dress as a knight to get in free
What: Free Spamalot tickets Get by: Sat 2 Nov 2013
How: The producers of Monty Python's Spamalot are giving FREE tickets to theatre-goers who turn up to the show dressed as a knight, as well as anyone who has been knighted (are you reading, Bradley Wiggins?), subject to seat availability.
Just arrive at The Playhouse Theatre, London at least one hour before the show starts in all your Arthurian finery, which must include FOUR of the following knightly articles:
a helmet
a hood
chainmail
armour
a tabard
a tunic
a cape
gauntlets
a shield
However, Spamalot-style costumes will also be considered and judged on their individual merit, so if your costume's convincing enough, you could still get a free ticket.
Warning: Even if you get there early, if all seats have gone, you won't get in. You can try calling ahead, but bear in mind there's always a chance you won't get a free ticket.
What do I get? One free ticket for anyone dressed as a knight (see criteria above) to any performance of Monty Python's Spamalot at London's West End until Sat 2 Nov 2013.
You won't be able to choose your seat, but since tickets usually cost between £15 and £65, it's a great freebie regardless.
The detail: Free tickets are only available at the box office on the day and are subject to availability. If you've been knighted, you must bring ID. No maximum group size, though there's no guaranteed entry, so larger groups go at their own risk.

Re: Free Days Out - post them here!
School's Out: Half Term Fun
11 – 22 Feb, 2013
Visit us this half term, there’s a whole host of activities and family fun – for free - both indoors and out, above and below ground, which guarantees to keep the whole family busy!
Enjoy lively underground tours led by former-miner guides
• Visit our new Special Exhibition: We Still Stand
• Join in with family craft activities (weekdays, 1pm to 4pm)
• Meet living history characters (18 – 21 Feb)
• Discover the children’s playground
• Relax at our café, shop and picnic area
• Let off steam at 'Little Diggers' our new under 5’s play area
• Explore Hope Pit with our curators (19 & 21 Feb)
Indoors
Pop into our Learning Curve this half term and get creative during our popular art and craft sessions; design a decorative plate (Monday 11 to Friday 15) or why not take inspiration from our new Special Exhibition ‘We Still Stand’ and create your very own silhouette mining scene? (Monday 18 - Friday 22)
Little ones will also love the new ‘Little Diggers’ under 5s, allotment-themed soft play area whilst the whole family can explore the original colliery buildings including the steam winder, medical centre and pithead baths, then dig deeper into the history of coal-mining in the 1842 and Coal Interface Galleries. Get to the heart of mining communities, homes and family life in Mining Lives and, between Monday 18 and Thursday 21, call into Parkinson’s Yard where history will literally be brought to life by colourful, costumed characters from mining past.
Take a trip to Hope Pit where you’ll find lots of hands-on interactive models and touch-screen displays to help you get to grips with the science of mining. Join us on Tuesday 19 and Thursday 21 when you can meet the curators who look after the Museum's really big machines, and learn about what each one was used for.
Outdoors
if the sun is shining, make the most of a walk around the half mile long Nature Trail. Before you set off, pick up a handy re-usable, ring-bound, activity pack from the Shop and enjoy interactive games and puzzles with Motty the mole along the way (£3 per pack). The Trail begins near the Museum’s picnic area where you take the gravel path into the valley to follow the stream - look out for the bird hides and see if you can spot any of the colliery’s wildlife!
Plus, don’t forget to swing by the playground and make a ‘pit stop’ at the stables to visit our rescue ponies, Eric & Ernie, and our beautiful Clydesdale horse Finn.
Underground - New 'Go Mining!' tour
Families are invited to get ‘hands-on’ as they discover more about the lives of coal miners through the ages on our new 'Go Mining!' interactive tour. Experience genuine sights, sounds and smells of a working coal-mine and find out how horses were once kept underground; feed, muck-out and learn how to put a bridle on our display horses in the new underground stable area and more.
