This film was utter trite and so far my worst film of the year. I can't believe how downhill this franchise has gone, because if I remember correctly the first two installments (the ones I'm certain I've seen at some stage) have an actual story don't they?
This one was WAY too loud (it interrupted my sleep, though I did get at least half an hour in there) and completely pointless. Heavily focussed on action without substance and even the action became repetitive and dragged on. And it was just so utterly stupid. Eg. driving over cars in a truck, seeing them get totally smashed and apologising to their passengers? Er... they're probably dead.
2/10 - 1 point because I feel sorry for Bruce Willis and 1 point because I'm sure I laughed at *something* in the beginning of the film.

This is all John McTiernan's fault!! Damn you John - did you have to lie to the friggin FBI & go to prison?!
We could have had a solid DIE HARD movie here! Certainly one in which John McClane would've remembered that to combat jetlag, all he needed to do was make fists with his toes.

Not sure about the violence but I'm sure when the woman gets off the motorbike early in the film we saw her unzip her catsuit thing in the trailer. I don't remember that in the film. Not sure why that stuck in my mind!Jayman wrote:Oh, it's cut alright, just in a more underhanded manner than usual.

Anyway as for the film it's terrible. Other than the phone contract line and a decent, but over long car chase Ill probably have forgotten it by tomorrow.
And it's not even a Die Hard film, John McClane is a cop not Bourne AND I know he's hard to kill hence the title, but since the last film he now appears to be indestructible and that is pretty dull.

Speaking of phones, the gadget bagging wasn't too bad - they had laid out the bags in order, so once you got to the front of the queue, it was super quick. Much better organised than Taken 2.
Only realised today when I went to print my ticket that it did actually warn in the email that phones would be collected. Must read Sky emails more carefully...
