All the negative comments have made me all the more interested in seeing it tomorrow (today). Brain dead films are fine some days.

A comment from a Twitter conversation I was having last night:

"Die Hard was pony. Not as bad as Taken 2. They should stick that on the poster."

We saw this last night at Teeside, and like many people, we've seen better Die Hard films.
However, it was entertaining to a degree, and not a total waste of time. I expect that several cars were damaged/written off in the making of this film! Well, it makes a change from a high body count! :D

Caught this last night and it was no where near as bad as some of the reviews are saying. So it wasn't the best Die Hard etc but it was still worth a watch and the opening car chase and the amount of destruction made it watchable all the way through.

Normally one would expect to see cars driving over cars at a monster truck derby. This was done with vehicles with normal tyres, 4wd of course.

Here's my review. So, so bad. The director is totally incompetent. A film stuffed with teal and orange colour grading, lens flare, un-needed shakycam in dialogue scenes and weird mini-zooms. Parts of it are borderline unwatchable. It's impossible to know what's going on in quite a few of the action sequences. I don't get why after the disaster that was 'Max Payne' they gave this multimillion dollar action film to John Moore.

I couldn't agree more. The early action scene gave me a terrible headache.

DD and I went to see this last night and have to agree that although its not the best Die Hard film we've seen, it did keep us entertained for most of its 98 minutes. Lots of car chases and things being blown up. Thought it an ideal mid week film after a taxing day in work.

Excellent review by the way, mrflunchy. You raise some really valid points about the weaknesses of the film.
