This was the most quick and very low key premiere that I have ever been to. Doors opened at 6.30pm and we had to be seated by 7pm, and the director and Richard Gere came on stage soon after!

I somehow managed to sneak into the press area, with all the press photographers, and one grumpy one asked if I was with the press, and I said I was with the media, so got a very good view of Richard Gere, unfortunately, he spent about a minute with his fans, then a minute posing for the photographers which annoyed the grumpy one no end :D - three snaps and he was gone!

From my vantage point I also saw beate and her OH, ejwrank and david walk by on the red carpet.

Inside I bumped into ejwrank, david, cliveas, davewatts, and pcrock. pcrock and I then stood outside screen 1 and people watched to see if we could spot anyone famous. We were sure we saw Ellen Love from Mr Selfridge. I spotted Fiona Phillips from GMTV, and Gloria Hunniford. Then it was approaching 7pm so we went and got seated, whereupon Beate showed up to say hi.

I enjoyed the film, loved the corporate world of wheeling and dealing with hedge funds and arbitrages (it is when you b*y and sale assets at the same time in order to profit from a difference in price)

I just love Richard Gere (he still got it!) and thought he and Susan Sarandon was on top form, and also Brit Marling, as their daughter was very good too, It was a good thriller with enough suspense, I was totally caught up with Gere's predicament, going from disaster to disaster, but unfortunately finished too abruptly! 8/10

Afterwards, I managed to get a photo with Gloria Hunniford, Cheri Lunghi (Secret Diary of a Call Girl), and Laura Main (Sister Bernadette, Call the Midwife). :D

LOL, I don't think I would recognize Sister Bernadette without her nun outfit on!

I thought this was great. We arrived very early - around 5.30pm and waited outside by the red carpet - very cold - and got a spot where the cars pulled up. Richard Gere arrived around 6.15pm i think it was and did spend some time at our end and seemed to shake everyones hand and my other half high fived him !! "Hey High Five man" she said to which he answered "you got it !!"

A few have mentioned how low key it was. I wonder if The Brits being on the same night meant we were left with the "Z" listers attending

I thought the film was excellent and one of his best performances for years !!! Disappointed with Susan Sarandon's performance though. Highly recommed this to anyone...

Did notice Beth Tweddle and her Dancing on Ice partner sitting about 5 rows in front of us next to Martyn Lewis (the "money" man). Beth seemed a little bored because all I could see for most of the night was her looking at her mobile phone. Also bumped into them on the way out - on their mobile phones - and saw them again waiting for a tube train (looking at their mobile phones !!)

All in all a good night - great film 8.5/10

Totally agree about the finish. So abrupt - It felt like there was a collective "is that the end ?"

Yeah, Martin Lewis tweeted he was sat next to Beth Tweddle, whoever she is. I can't know everyone, unlike PXC, LOL.

Beth Tweedle - GB Olympic Gymnast Bronze Medal (I think she was also a world champion...) and currently a contestant on Dancing On Ice

My first premiere - maybe that's why it was so low key, they didn't want to overwhelm me, haha.
Really great to see familiar faces, and I'm not just talking about Richard Gere, who seemed to spend quite a bit of time saying hellos and shaking hands, which was nice.
As for the film, I really enjoyed it (despite the fact that sitting on the very edge meant slight neck cramp). Strong performances and good enough story. After sleeping on it I decided I actually liked the abrupt ending, as it left me with that feeling of things possibly going in so many different directions for him. Maybe it turned out just fine, but maybe it didn't, after the camera stopped.

8/10

I'm surprised at all of your reactions to the ending; I thought it was pretty clear cut:
Gere's character remains a financial success but loses his family. I thought a far more important question would be why, in the final limo scene, does Mayfield not appear fazed when his CFO reveals the $400 million gap. In fact, not only does Mayfield not look bothered, he actually smiles.
I forgot to say It was quite funny when Richard Gere was talking, the director took a photo of the audience taking photos of them, and tweeted!
