This is all new to me! I've never sported a moustach or beard in my life, (I dont think I'm even spelling those words properly as I see the automatic red line error under them) though I have been unshaven a few too many times which is not cool.

Well my now that I have revealed my lack of self grooming skills, I'll stick to running for charity :)

TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:And what about the body fat percentage, Diane? ;) Go easy on the peanut butter, its very nutritious, has indeed got a good dose of protein and GOOD fats. But take in moderation. ALso dont ever get the "low fat" version, get the proper version. The low fat version strips off the nutrition. Same with white bread, white rice, white suger....they have all been stripped of their nutritional goodness.

Guys and gals, how much we weigh is not a fair measurement when comparing with each other. We all have different bone mass, different heights and some of us may have more muscle mass which is heavier than fat. In fact I suspect some of you have built muscle mass for those of you doing resistance exercises :) You can only guage your own progress, no point in comparing with others. However, if you feel competitive, then what you guys should be comparing is body fat percentage ;) That is the most important measurement, not your weight. You want to get your BODY FAT % down to healthy levels. Its possible to be the perceived perfect weight (there is actually no such thing) but are far from healthy with too much internal fat clogging up arteries etc. Weight does not indicate health but BODY FAT percentage does or at least it gives a far better indication.

Now when we are overweight, the most convenient gauge is measuring weight and it is a sufficient gauge to begin with BUT it is also important to know your body fat percentage and I advice you to also guage yourself with that measure every fortnight. The simplest tool to use is the tape measurement and plug it into a body fat % formula then compare every fortnight. Dont weigh/measure yourself every day, otherwise you will stress out big time! Our body weight and shape fluctuates through the day, its pointless to measure daily. So only measure weight/body fat once a week, in fact two weeks is best. Also when you do, always pick a consistent time of day and stick to it, for example, morning just before breakfast (I personally think that is the best time).

Happy WOMEN'S DAY! No idea there was such a day but you all deserve it for all the hard work and multitasking that you do, not to mention the fantastic healthy driven society you've built on this thread! o/ o/ o/

So when is men's day ? :shifty:
Point taken and it certainly wasn't any low fat peanut butter but it was white bread - my excuse is I hadn't eaten for 11 hours apart from my bowl of spinach so was getting light headed (I had saved calories for my meal out). I do have my pressie from yourself to measure my body fat so I will get measuring plus I don't want furry/clogged up arteries.

I need to get my body moving asap as I've done way too much socialising/working and not allowing enough time to exercise or enough
time to sleep which is so bad even though I feel fine :nono:

Dropped 6lbs this week. 7 weeks in to my diet and I have dropped from 15.10 to 14.3. Time to get shredded!

Already dreaming about bulking again. Might be hard to get grass-fed butter from the local supermarket.

That's amazing. I wish I could drop that much! I'd be interested to know what your diet and exercise regime is if you don't mind sharing it. o/

Moderate to high protein and low carbs. Keeping fats in the diet in the shap of avacado and p.butter. Cardio - moderate pace, 25mins 4 x week
Training - my usual 4 day split

Best thing in any diet is to initially reduce carbs by around 20%. If you create a calorie deficit you will start to burn fat cells.

Thanks dfletch08, I'm using myfitnesspal to try and watch the calories. It's a bit difficult at the moment on the CARB side as I'm in training for a half-marathon. On the plus side I should be looking buff come the summer - watch out ladies ;)

Done the kinect huzzah! With the help of DS which can be tricky when trying to get good punches in cardio boxing lol. Back on the wagon today after a big fat day yesterday. Scrambled eggs and ryvita for breakfast :)
