We watched this on Sunday at the Lexi, a lovely independent cinema, I can only recommend (and only a short walking distance from Kensal Rise overground station). They have very comfortable seats a good sound system and even when the screening is not free they don't have annoying commercials ...

I almost didn't go as I was so tired in the morning, but am glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Can't really add anything that hasn't been said already except that for the first time I thought I occasionally heard a slight English accent in Kristin Scott Thomas' French. I don't expect that was intended? Have any of our native French speakers seen it.

First screening in a quite a while. 8/10.

For the first 70% of its duration, this movie held my attention, then I felt it appeared to lose its way somewhat and was a little overlong. Shame, as there was obvious potential and some good acting. Not sorry I went to see it, though, but slightly frustrated by the end, a sentiment which several fellow cinemagoers appeared to share.

I ventured to the Hackney Picturehouse, after deciding at the very last minute to go, surprisingly, there were still tickets available! And it was lovely to join david, ejwrank and family.

A riveting story, some funny scenes, and some quite disturbing, as there is a thin line between what is fact and what is fiction, but I did get a little bored three quarters way through, felt it dragged a bit and the last part seems to have lost its way, as the two central characters seems to have lost theirs. ;)

Kristin Scott Thomas was rather good, as were the two central characters. 7/10

Thrilling movie, but also entertaining. I laughed with the crowd in the Gate cinema.

I loved the film. The boy's face was amazing and I found myself continually wondering where fact and fiction started and finished.

Saw this at the Cambridge Picturehouse (which I love!) and thought it had a brilliant storyline! Kristin Scott Thomas and Fabrice Luchini are astounding, the story is intriguing and captured my attention almost until end - which slightly disappointed me, but I would still recommend the movie as a whole!

As a French speaker I noticed the subtitles weren't always as good as they could be, so I'm not sure how this came across from non-natives...

I often think to myself that what is obviously being spoken in whatever language the film is in, clearly doesn't match the subtitles. It is usually when there is a long sentence spoken and the subtitles contain one or two words! lol

Have to agree about it dragging.. whilst I laughed a lot during the film, I did feel the film could have been shorter to keep the audience's attention. The film felt much longer than the actual running time...

The storyline was very compelling in general and I liked how it was different than the average Hollywood film. Also I thought that the mix of reality and fiction was good, as it gave the reader something to think about.

Also a 7/10 from me.

As Beate says, this film was very French and I mean that as a compliment! I do love a French film on a Sunday morning and this did not disappoint.

It was thrilling and I was cringing at some of the characters' decisions and actions throughout - i kept thinking no good could come from the situation they were all getting actively sucked into. Claude was played so well, a good looking, highly intelligent teenager who could come across very sinisterly and boyishly innocent at the same time - a potentially dangerous combination. We were kept on the edge of our seats to see how far it could all go.

I do think it went on a little too long and like others say, I feel it lost its was about 3 quarters of the way in which is a shame but that was my only complaint - some tighter editing of the story and I would have probably given it a higher score but it is a very strong 8.5 for me.
