We found the most divine restaurant around the corner from the hotel where last night I have never had so much food on my plate ever (it looked like a serving plate  ) chicken with creamy mushroom sauce, broccoli, cauliflower and chips followed by ice cream and hot cherries. Had cakes in the chocolate factory (I've got my custom made bar of chocolate for Easter). I also managed to have an Americaner cake, another cake in Bruhl plus a meal out with sauages, sauerkraut and fried potatoes. I have no idea how but we did go out for lunches as well and have snacks when we got back in - it doesn't add up that I have eaten all this in 3 days but I certainly did 8O

On the plus side I did walk around all the time we were there from dawn until dusk and apart from the evenings when we had snacks in the rooms my toe nails never saw the light of day  but I did feel rather grown up in polished finger nails o/
Heyyy Welcome back Diane ! So glad that you had such a wonderful time ! Welcome back to the cold even though we are officially in British Summer Time ! But anyway , as promised although slightly late for which i am sorry here is a recipe to clear up any of the post holiday blues you may be experiencing :)

Tikka Marinade (goes with absolutely anything at all )

So this is not a curry recipe but a recipe for a tikka marinade which you can use to marinate just about anything at all , whole chicken, chicken breast, beef steak ,leg of lamb , lamb chops, fish , quorn , vegetables and even cheese (paneer) !

heres what you will need

1 cube of garlic
1 cube of ginger
(this recipe will show you the true magic of these cubes)
1/4 cup of lemon juice
2 tablespoons yoghurt
1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
pinch of whole cumin seeds
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Firstly we need to melt the frozen ginger and garlic into a paste , so, place the garlic and ginger cubes into a bowl and cook it in a microwave for 10-15 seconds max, this will not cook it but will soften it so that you can mash it into a paste using a spoon , once you have it in a paste form add all the above ingredients and mix really well and there you have it , a fantastic oil free and healthy marinade !

A healthy tip is when using chicken use chicken that comes without skin as the skin contains a LOT of fat , cut some deep slits all over the chicken so that marinade can get into all the little nooks and crannies. I much prefer the skinless chicken personally as i find that when using with skin its usually only the skin part that tends to take in all the flavour leaving the rest of chicken quite bland. An overnight marinating time is the best , however if you werent able to to do this then a 2 hour to 4 hour marinade is fine too, if in a rush and you need to get the dinner on quick then a 15 minute marinating will suffice and still will be a very good result .

Goes perfectly with roast potatoes or chips , however for healthy eating baked potatoes is delicious, serve with steamed veg or salad. Creamy Garlic sauce also does wonders . If cooking for guests and you dont mind a bit of indulgence then add a quarter cup of melted butter into the marinade too , but beware, once you have it like this you may never go back to the healthy version ever again !!

You can also have it with pitta bread or naan, salad and your choice of sauces for a healthy (and possibly tastier!) cure for any kebab cravings anyone may be having :)

Enjoy !

Glad you had a nice break Diane x

Heyy Moggzzzzz , unless i'm horribly mistaken it sounds like your giving up and going through a particlurly low time..??? Whats wrong dear ?? and whats with all the last post on this thread talk ??? are you going to leave us all in the lurch here ???? remember dont let one bad day make you believe you have a bad life (i hope you read the inspiration thread!)

If your feeling like your not achieveing your goals then do as i do and PUT YOUR FEET UP for a day or two and FORGET ABOUT THE GOALS. Give yourself some time to recover and take some guilt free time for yourself, once you have had a little holiday from it all you will soon bounce back . and even if you dont bounce back just yet then your simply just not ready and theres nothing wrong with that , no point jumping into the deep end of a pool as you will soon jump straight out again. take as much time as you need to become ready and in that time try to enjoy your life and enjoy who you are !

I hope we hear from you soon and that we dont have to start a new 'bring back moggers thread' !

ANDDD Im really sorry if ive jumped to some horrible conclusions and ive got all this wrong ! eek !

So sorry to hear that you won't be posting on here any more. I for one have certainly been inspired by you and loved you being on here. Obviously I don't know your reasons for keeping it to yourself but I would love it if you would stay around but do respect your wishes.

I have put on 2lbs while I have been in Germany plus the Easter egg yesterday didn't help matters. I'm not remotely surprised after what I have eaten its a wonder that I managed to see anything in Cologne with the amount of time I spent eating. I will be having Moviemann's curry tonight and will try his new recipe in the week, its brilliant as I have everything in already so its all good and so quick to make.

Due to a recent spell of gluttony due to my trip to Germany and a chocolate fiasco plus a bit (lot) of laziness and the meet up just being 2 weeks away (I'm scared of MrGlass) I am back on the healthy regime as from today, I'm going to walk to the cinema to get my body working again and need to get my DVD out again as its been nearly 3 weeks since my body was moved.

How is everyone else getting on?

I use myfitnesspal. I've got a couple (quite a few!) pounds to drop before I potentially go on holiday and it's really helping me keep a track of my calorie and macronutrient intake.

I find it helps because, if you choose to, your friends on myfitnesspal can see your food and exercise diary, which certainly keeps me motivated!

Send me a private message if you'd like to add me on myfitnesspal!

Trying to get back on the walking and swimming routine now that the weather has improved. Had a walk down at Portobello seafront yesterday - thought about you and your daughter Diane. Plenty of things to watch down there whilst walking which makes it interesting. Swam in the outdoor pool on Wednesday and had a long walk into and around the town on Thursday. Watching the carbs although had a few days of sandwiches etc I lost another 1lb this week. Still a long way to go to target weight but will keep trying. Just as well I am not meeting Mr Glass in two weeks time. LOL!!

Well done on the 1lb weight loss Biggins and you are brave having an outdoor swim. I need to brave the scales as I feel fat due to overeating etc, feeling hungry at the moment as have been for a walk and eating healthily today. I always find the first few days a bit tough as I need to lose a bit now whereas I have been maintaining since August but over the last few weeks my clothes are feeling a little snugger than they were.

Keep posting John Milton so we can encourage each other o/

Back on the healthy eating regime now as I weighed myself yesterday and have put on another 1lb 8O
Got up bright and early yesterday and did my exercise DVD and ate healthily all day.
Menu of the day:
Fruit and fibre with almond milk and a banana (350 calories)
Chicken sandwich for lunch followed by a weight watchers yoghurt (300 calories)
Another banana as a snack as working late (100 calories)
Sweet and sour chicken with lots of veg but no noodles or rice followed by fresh pineapple (on offer for 50p in Asda so also using it in my sweet and sour) and natural yoghurt (400 calories)

A brisk walk before dinner. What is everyone else up to? I know that MrGlass is doing some serious walking up some hills with some sheep as we speak.

hey everyone,

After a week off from the gym today was my first day back, up until i took that week off my body was getting reeeeeally tired and the aches and pains werent stopping, so i diagnosed myself with a case of over training and prescribed myself a week off :D

Anyways back to the regime again from today but ive decided to make some changes this time , i dont want to end up overtraining again anytime soon so ive decided to ease up a bit and workout less in the mornings , i'll still go 5 days a week but as i was doing 1- 2 hours in the mornings before i am going to reduce that to 30mins - 1hour , most probably near the 30 min part mainly. This way i wont feel tired out during the day at work and it will also make the kickboxing sessions that i go in the evenings couple times of week a lot easier too. I was actually starting to miss some of the kickboxing sessions towards the end before my break as was just sooo tired all the time and this is what actually made me take the week off and re evaluate my regime . So first day back today and i did a 15 min run and 15 min cycle to start the new regime off , ill be kickboxing tonight which is an hour and half so today will have been 2 hours in total. Speaking of kickboxing its been exactly one year of me doing Muay Thai kickboxing , prior to this i was doing Wing Chun and before that I was just boxing . I had actually only planned to do Muay Thai for 1 year as my plan was to do Aikido at a local centre here after a year of Muay thai , but i've actually really grown to love Muay Thai so much now that i think im just going to carry on with it , if i had the time i would do the Aikido too but realistiaccly it just wont be possible

Meals have been the usual things , no major changes to report, breakfast today was oats mixed with milk and flavoured with strawberry protein powder , lunch was a cheese and pickle toastie and some baxters meditaranean tomato soup (love this soup sooo much !) dinner will be a verrrrrrrrry nice reward today after all the working out and kickboxing as we will be having chicken biryani mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ! :D
