Just got back from seeing this at the Odeon Metrocentre. Got in early to make sure we got our seats.

The film is a bit mediocre. Drawn out first 90 minutes, not much excitement or real intrigue. The final 45 minutes at least rattles on with Cruise in action mode and the story wrapped up in an obvious ending. I wasn't expecting much and it certainly delivered on that front. A rather disappointing 6/10 I'm afraid.

What an awesome spectacular movie. Stunning visuals. Usual clunky Tom Cruise, but heck. Who's caring if he can entertain like this?
I thiunk some of the references and lamndmarks of New York may be wasted on some of us UKers but didn't detract from some amazing scenery. Not entirely sure how much was CGI and what was not. I'm sure there were some on location shots too.
Plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you guessing right to the end though.

I liked.

Free Film, popcorn and Ice Cream!!! Couldnt get any better than that really - oh well actually you could - I thought the film was a bit too long. Not as good as I was expecting although visually stunning only 6/10

Just back from the Braehead (Glasgow) screening of this movie. Both my girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Oblivion to me, is a straight up sci-fi movie that is beautifully put together and even Cruise was tolerable in the lead role!

Just back from Trafford Centre - glad i got there early as half a dozen were turned away as was completely full.

Pretty decent film - great visuals and cgi effects - story was ok but not amazing.

Overall i would give it 7/10.

Oh and free popcorn too o/

This was very cool. All lead actors were great & visual effects were top notch....
nice to see weightlessness in a sci fi space scene...usual avoided because of expense...
Noticible lack of tom cruise torso shots...finally the freak is showing some signs of ageing. ps i love mr cruise, always have.

9/10

ps fight broke at derby, when one plumby lady who could not get in (screening was full, 8 folk missed out but were given complimentary tickets) decided it was the ushers fault & started punching him.....it's always the posh / entitled ones, ain't it comrades ?

...punch up & free ben & jerrys....what a night!

I enjoyed this, a great sci-fi and loved the visuals and fancy outpost-tower homes with pools and magnificant views!

I did wonder what happened
to the other jack from the moment he left him tied up. and also what about the 50 (at least) other Jack & Victorias working in their towers?
Thinking about using up my final imax pass to use up on a second viewing ( if it's on at the imax screen).

8.5/10

Well that was hilarious at Lee Valley today

They filled up the entire screen and a plethora of people were still funneling in when the film was about to start, they were stuck in the Isle just bemused they couldn't get seats at such a late time (i know, i know). Then they started the Virgin advert and short film....with no video. And then the film started...with no video. Everyone was going apeshit and yelling that i was just laughing to myself at the state. I've heard horror stories about this type of thing but never experienced it. Today i finally joined the club. Then they stopped it 5 min in...and replayed everything from the start with video (including the virgin short film). The guy beside me made me laugh too with his: "I want my money back" comment. We got going with the film 20 min late

Anywho, the film. I really liked this. Very good. Great story, fairly unpredictable twists for the most part, stunning visuals and just a treat for the eyes. Unfortunatly it is let down by some weak dialogue and horrible character development. Aswell as reinforcing the whole "Theres nothing stronger than Love" trope which i am thoroughly bored of by now.
That whole scene on the ruined Empire State Building as she is reminding him she's his wife....really poorly written with some of the most bleh directing and writing i have seen to try and make the moment powerful. Which is weird as its the lynchpin for the great story
Overall, strong premise that was beautiful to look at, let down by some weak writing for the actual people

Overall 7/10

Of all the films to try and fight your way into. I mean I would do that for Iron Man 3, but not for Oblivion
