By the way, how was Wallace and Gromit? Apologies if I've missed any posts on this!

Sorry for delay!

Now where to post? Theatre/Concert discussion or miscellaneous film screening :D

I went to Wallace & Gromit's Musical Marvels at Hammersmith Apollo on Easter Sunday. I love Wallace & Gromit so was really looking forward to this!

The Hammersmith Apollo is really due for some major refurbishment, the place is so shabby and the seats are really threadbare! Was surprised that there were quite a few rows of empty seats, wonder whether SFF released enough, or it was just a lot of people away for the Easter hols.

The first half of the show was a behind the scenes with Wallace & Gromit, their back stage exploits shown on the big screen, while the orchestra entertained us below. Lots of interaction with the orchestra and Wallace & Gromit, where they send the music sheet from back stage down the pipes, and it ends up on the stage in the theatre for the conductor to pick up, then the conductor rings Wallace and you see Wallace answers on the big screen, and they have a conversation, sweet. :D Didn't know Gromit was such a good voilin player as he joins in with the orchestra! :giggle:

The second half was the showing of the animation "A Matter of Loaf and Death" which was really good and the usual Wallace & Gromit's mad adventure, funny, exciting and engrossing. The live music from the Aurora Orchestra fitted really well.

Lovely family entertainment 8/10

Guys, I would really appreciate your help...

I'm collecting points to be able to get Book of Mormon tickets when I go to Broadway (which is all but sold out so this really is my only chance) but there is not enough time for me left before I go to NYC to be able to collect the points I need by doing just the daily task and so I need to up my point count by referrals.

Please help me by clicking my referral link and joining the rewards scheme, you don't have to actually participate or do any tasks after joining as the referral points will have already been awarded to me.

It'll only take one minute of your time, this is how it works:

- Click my personal link: http://www.bookofmormonbroadway.com/?bd ... E11ACC11BB

- In the left bottom corner it'll say "Your friend Zarina is earning coins on this site by joining the BOM. Join BOM to unlock cool Rewards for exploring this site". Click "start".

- Click "login"

- Sign in with Facebook. Click "ok"

- And that's it, easy! You can join once per Facebook account as long as you log out of your Book of Mormon account each time (otherwise it just links up your accounts and they don't count as a new referral each time), and I'll get 100 new points each time you do this.

Please, please take a minute of your time to do this for me and if you don't mind ask friends/family/acquaintances to do the same?

If you hadn't guessed by my icon/location/signature quote yet, I LOVE this show and having the chance to see it on Broadway would mean the world to me so I'd really appreciate any help you can give :) :thanks:

Edited to add: Twitter login does not work at the moment so you can only join through Facebook at the moment. Sorry for the confusion!

I had a chance to go to the last preview of ONCE last night. It wasn't a freebie but was at a discounted preview price, which was better then p*ying full price.

I really enjoyed it and thought that all the cast were amazing - they could sing, act and play instruments (and even dance a little). I enjoyed all the songs although most were not very memorable, apart from Falling Slowly and Gold. I have seen the film (although saw it when first released) so couldn't remember it, therefore I thought the story was slow.

When we arrived at around 7:15, all the actors were singing songs and playing instruments, which made a nice change instead of waiting bored. They also allowed before the start and at the interval people to go up to the stage to b*y a drink from the onstage bar.

Overall a great musical which wasn't afraid to be different. Would recommend!
8/10
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

I posted a brief review for Once the musical on here a few weeks ago and have finally gotten around to finishing my full write-up if anyone's interested:

I enjoyed reading your review Canadian Turtle and thought it was spot on. I went with my teenage daughter to see Once the musical yesterday and we really enjoyed it. The cast are very talented. We were very fortunate to get front row stalls day seats for £25 each. We arrived at 9.50am and there was only one chap in front of us. He was on holiday from New York, but said tickets were so difficult to get for the Broadway show, with huge queues for day seats, he thought he would try here on a day there were two performances (front row of 10 stall seats for each performance reserved for sale on the day at £25 each). He was amazed there was no queue. As we pa*d for our seats, there were only two people who came in behind us. The seats made you feel almost like you were in the stage pub setting itself and you could could see the facial expressions and cast playing instruments close up.

I really wanted to, but had to wait in. Had a look at the FB page and I'm hopeful they'll do another freebie in a few months! o/
