Saw this in Sheffield and did notice both of these :)ISMADDER wrote:Did you Spot
the original evil dead
car
early in the film which sat on.
and
Bruce campbell
after the credits.
I was suprised how much I enjoyed this, not as good as the original but still had me jumping. Loved the gore and for a remake was very well done. 7.5/10
Re: The Evil Dead 2013
I was expecting this to be much better than it was. I didn't find it scary at all. Maybe I should have lowered my expectations, but everyone was hyping it so much.
Re: The Evil Dead 2013
I really enjoyed this movie, am a fan of the originals but knew Bruce cambell (Ash) from the original series and Sam Raimi the Director where behind it, so I knew this was going to be good anyway. I really like how the effects where done very old school and hardly and CGI, the acting was also very good here and the film was just beautiful to look at, if you're not into your gore you wont like it but then why would you be watching this movie xD I give Evil dead a 7.5 out of 10

Gutted I missed out on tickets for this as they were on my birthday too! However, finally got to see it last night and it did not disappoint. Straight up nasty horror film, just like it should be, 8/10!

Re: The Evil Dead 2013
this movie abandoned the campy feel of Raimi's movie for a series of straight shlock setpeices. Whilst its an undeniable gorefest, it may sound funny me saying that this film turned the gore up a bit too far IMHO in favour of that wacky style of the old movies. I didn't need to see so much gore, I wanted an Evil Dead movie. And this isn't one. As a stand alone movie though it provides the shocks and the grossout you would expect from the Norties torture porn genre. I'm not sure why you'd want to see so much of it personally.
7/10 because it tried to do things its own way even if that felt as if something was missing.

This is the worst film I have seen this year. There, I've said it.

Re: The Evil Dead 2013
Forgot to review this lol. I saw this in Birmingham Broad Street and it was quite packed but not full. Having seen the original, I liked that there was more story this time in that they explained things better. It was quite gory as expected, but not as silly or stupid as the original. As well, I was really disappointed that they didn't show the scene in the trailer and TV spot, where the girl in the cellar is singing something like 'we're gonna get you'. Why advertise that part and then cut it out of the film? I also missed the post credits scene like others did and watched it online afterwards, but didn't understand that part, until I saw Evil Dead II, so I get that part now lol. Overall it was better than the original so i'd give it a 3/5.
