Woman stabbed at Shutter Island screening! 8O

A woman was stabbed in a cinema after she complained about a moviegoer using his mobile phone.

The woman was stabbed in the neck with a meat thermometer after arguing with a man about his mobile phone use during a screening of Shutter Island in a Californian cinema. She was hospitalised with serious injuries.
A police spokesman told the LA Times, "It was a vicious and cowardly attack."

The incident happened two weeks ago, but the police have gone public in the hope of tracking down the two men who attacked the victim.

That was in the US, the country where they run around in public with guns - I saw something on the news yesterday, absolutely horrendous. Apparently it's allowed to carry guns if you don't conceal them!

I was in the cinema once and during the movie this guy punched another guy and he went flying…apparently he did it cos he stepped on his foot as he was trying to get out to go to he toilet!!! Couldn’t believe it, he hit him pretty hard and there was blood everywhere.
This is why im too scared to go to the toilet during a movie :noo:

The thing I hate most about going to the cinema is people talking. It's because of incidents like the Shutter Island one, that I don't ask people to be quiet. You never know how people are going to respond. I remember years ago going to a preview of Galaxy Quest at the Scala and two guys behind me were talking through the entire film. I turned round and politely asked them if they could be quiet and one of them just had a go at me. Luckily it didn't get physical but it still made me uncomfortable. Now I no longer say anything and just suffer in silence (or not). I really don't understand why people can't keep quiet for a couple of hours, the lack of consideration for others astonishes me sometimes.
Oh and who the hell carries a meat thermometer around with them!

I still tell people off but have had the odd moment where I wondered if I was about to get the s**t kicked out of me!

And yes, I was wondering the same. Who does carry a meat thermometer around with them??
