From the producer of Crazy Heart comes STUCK IN LOVE, a romantic dramedy directed by first-time writer/director Josh Boone. Boasting a cast of some of America's most critically acclaimed actors, the film hits cinemas nationwide on 14th June 2013 courtesy of Koch Media. Three years after his divorce, acclaimed novelist Bill Borgens (Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear - Little Miss Sunshine) is still obsessed with his ex-wife Erica (Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly - A Beautiful Mind), who left him for another man. Meanwhile, his fiercely independent daughter Samantha (Lily Collins, Mirror Mirror) is publishing her first novel but refusing to deal with real life - in the shape of diehard romantic Lou (Logan Lerman, The Perks of Being a Wallflower). Meanwhile, Sam's younger brother, Rusty (Nat Wolff - Peace, Love and Misunderstanding) - also an aspiring writer - gets too much of a taste of real life when his dream girl turns out to have a troubled past... When these three romantic situations intertwine with poignant and hilarious results, the Borgens family finds itself hurtling towards surprising resolutions and revelations, after which none of them will ever be the same.

A bump prior to tomorrow's screening ;) .

After watching the trailer I can't say that I'm expecting to enjoy this but maybe I'll end up being pleasantly surprised tomorrow :cross: ...

It's just a film comfortable in mediocrity. Decent performances, nothing much in it though.

That was absolutely terrible. I wish the very worst for everyone that was involved in it. They should have the death penalty for the crime of making films that awful.

Now that was unexpected. I know it has a solid 7.0 on imdb but I took one look at the poster and thought "Oh dear".

But I was wrong. This is delightfully intelligent, nothing crude, nothing schmaltzy - so not like the recent Big Wedding etc. offering. Ok, the ending was a bit convenient but I loved it and nearly shed a tear. (Oh and I want that house on the beach.) For a romantic comedy this was surprisingly unhilarious though and I would have labelled it a romantic drama myself.

It was completely wasted on the rude and disruptive idiots around us who couldn't stop talking. Bastards.

And WIQ did start around 6.15pm with minimal latecoming (in fact the screen was half empty), after a charming and totally clueless Sky girl tried to find out for quite a while what the state of play was. It really annoyed me though that nearly everyone else seemed to have stocked up on popcorn, huge drinks and other crap with which they continued to make noise. I am pretty sure some of them were expecting to see a film with a different IQ. I am happy they were disappointed.

A solid 8/10 from OH and me.

Despite being emotionally manipulative and a pretty generic romantic drama I actually ended up thoroughly enjoying this movie 8O .

Decent performances from everyone involved & as it didn't outstay it's welcome it gets a solid 7/10 from me...
