Frightfest 2013 (Empire Leicester Sq 22/08-26/08)
Bit early but thought Id start it now.
Anyone going this year? I've been to the last 3 and I love it. Yes you do have to p*y but you get to see tons of horror films before their release, most of the films are UK/World premieres and its attended by film/horror buffs. Lus there's a bar and loads of pubs nearby.
Passes go on sale 29th June. If you queue up on the day to get a pass you get to see 'The Conjuring' (directed by James Wan who did 'Insidious' and 'Saw') free later tha day a month before it comes out.
The films being screened will be listed next week but we already know 'The Dead 2' is the festival opener and 'Big Bad Wolves' the closing film ..
Hoping for Curse of Chucky, Insidious 2, The Green Inferno or VHS 2 to be shown

I will hopefully be going on the Saturday and the Sunday of the festival. Not impressed with opening and closing movies.

I'm going again this year for the 4th time. It's always a good atmosphere and a bit geeky but I like it.

A friend of mine's short film is going to debut at the festival. It's called 'The Body' and stars Alfie Allen. Should be pretty good. :)

Really? I actually read about a few of the shorts showing there and 'The Body' sounded fun. Another short that sounds promising is 'Turncoat' and 'Breathe' about a ghost that only appears when you hold your breath.caitlinmorton wrote:A friend of mine's short film is going to debut at the festival. Not long now. The main films I'm looking forward to are:
You're Next (I actually won tickets to see this Monday but in hindsight It'll be more with a FrightFest audience)
When the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back.
The Dyatlov Pass Incident (Blair Witch on a snow capped mountain)
Five young filmmakers retrace the steps of a doomed group of hikers in pursuit of an unsolvable mystery.
The Banshee Chapter (trailer looks awesome)
Journalist Anne Roland explores the disturbing links behind her friend's sudden disappearance, an ominous government research chemical, and a disturbing radio broadcast of unknown origin.
V/H/S 2 (already released VOD but first was creepy)
Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his house and find collection of VHS tapes. Viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be dark motives behind the student's disappearance.

Curse of Chucky
You're Next
No One Lives
VHS 2
R.I.P.D
In Fear
Plus a few others...
Curse of Chucky: Don't like Chucky movies
You're Next: Probably see it next week if someone has a spare ticket
No One Lives: Saw this already ...was disappointed
VHS 2: One of the films I wanted to see
R.I.P.D: Men in Black for dead people. But Ryan Reynolds, hell yeah!
In Fear: Looks boring
I'll miss going for sure it's become a bit of a tradition going every year. So I'll be hoping for a free ticket or comp win. If so I might see you there.
