Easy Money
Easy Money
Easy Money (original title - Snabba cash) - release date 24 May 2013
Saw this last night. I thought it was intelligent film making if rather manipulative of the audience.
A Swedish crime movie, it reminded me a little of Scarface and of some Scorsese movies. The suspense was successfully ratcheted up despite it being difficult to like any of the main characters. It had rather more plot holes than is common in my experience for films from that part of the world, but still nothing on a Hollywood blockbuster.
Not a lot of laughs with this slice of Nordic Noir, it's not uplifting fare but is a good solid crime story. With quite a lot of characters it requires attention to follow the story but it pays off.

Re: Easy Money
I agree, it definitely required a lot of concentration to keep up with the story, but for me it was definitely worth it. A really clever film, and much better than I was expecting with lots of tension and drama.

My friend and I love Scandi-noir so found this gripping. Full concentration was needed because many of the main protagonists were dark bearded men so it was tricky to keep track of the sides. If only one of them could have worn a red sweater!

Re: Easy Money
Saw it the other day, trying to work out why anyone needs to watch it? A redundant, dull bore that offers nothing to cinema, life, anything.

Re: Easy Money
Thought I'd give this thread a helpful bump prior to the preview screenings later this week
.
Won't be going to any of them myself as I saw this at Nordicana last month but will say that I thought this was a pretty decent dramatic thriller. I liked that pretty much all of the characters had both light & dark aspects to their personalities and it was a pleasant surprise to see The Killing's (remake) Joel Kinnaman take centre stage in this flick.
Overall it was one of the better movies that I saw in June and it did more than enough to earn an 8/10 from me...

Re: Easy Money
is this film subtitled? the trailers seem very atmospheric but have no speech. not sure if it may be dubbed as going out under Scorsese's name.

Re: Easy Money
i had only watched the trailer ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... 5x2T9vNi2o) and it was not obvious to me. then i had thought i'd have peek at the comments here and was surprised that they said it was Scandinavian noir. Also as it has Scorcese writ large on the credits it could be dubbed for a wider market.Beate wrote:Course it's subtitled.
Re: Easy Money
Do they still dub movies to be shown in uk? (animations aside)
I really dislike dubbing.

Re: Easy Money
They dub everything in Germany. They don't seem to dub anything in the UK.
