Maybe they wanted to appeal to the TMI market and go for facial runes.

A touch late, but here's my review:

http://www.londoncitynights.com/2013/08 ... mkamp.html

I loved it. The only fly in the ointment was the kid with leukaemia, which I thought was a touch too on the nose. Also the flashbacks didn't add much to the film. Otherwise though - great stuff. I love when film has a bit of political meat to it, and especially when I agree with its politics.

4/5*

Did someone on here mention Obama's Medicare reforms earlier ? This film contained a thinly disguised allegory for two tier healthcare albeit a rather extreme portrayal and a bit heavy handed - OH and I thought as much as soon as we saw the "hospital". It looked very much like Maidstone A&E. :X

The message in Elysium is hardly subtle. But I thought it was more to do with immigration than health care.

Anyway my review.

Just been to watch this - I'm putting those Cineworld vouchers to use. I enjoyed it. The first 20/30 minutes had me a bit sceptical but it picked up quickly & had my attention.

I thought Sharlto Copley was excellent again following up his role in District 9.

7/10

P.S. Having a few days off work & watching a film at the cinema around noon is bliss. Near empty screen, just how I like it.

saw this again, was actually better than I thought it would be on 2nd go. Much attention to detail that I missed first time became apparent. I appreciated Copley's manic agent more this time - first time he seemed rather OTTP.

I was actually in Elysium that night too (well the West London equivalent, that is Imperial Wharf, actually LOOKS like Elysium lol).
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Thought overall a film worth watching with a good cast and good performances. A little predicatable and perhaps a touch too long 7.5/10
