We have a few complimentary tickets available for a Comedy Show at The Leicester Square Theatre, tomorrow, Sunday, at 7.30pm

Perrier Award Winner Laura Solon (BBC 1s Harry and Paul, Radio 4s Talking and Not Talking) returns with her first show since 2005: the multi-character narrative comedy and sell out hit at the Edinburgh Festival 2009.

So..Its all gone tits down at Black Publishing.

The companys on the brink of financial collapse and star author Harriet G. Scott has gone AWOL without completing the all-important final instalment of her bestselling trilogy. Tepid-shot publisher Diana Lewis is scrambled to find a writer to finish the book and save the company from crisis. Her obstacles include an American Super Agent, a lightly tanned boss, a call centre worker, a diversity officer, The French and a dead rabbit called Ian.

Comedy TONIGHT: Bill Burr at L Square Theatre
Sunday 21st March: 4.30pm performance of Impropera
Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd - Matinee performance of Carmen
Waiting for Godot Matinee on Wednesday

DETAILS:

Bill Burr Comedy TONIGHT
To download tickets: http://www.seefilmfirst.com/pin/399899

Hit US comedian Bill Burr, dubbed as 'one of the country's best stand-ups' by Time Out Chicago, has today announced that he will be crossing the pond to perform for the very first time to UK fans at the Leicester Square Theatre London on Thursday 18TH March.

Having first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of "Chappelle's Show," Burr developed a comedic style of uninformed logic that has made him a regular performer on the "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." And on June 8, Bill was honored to be the first comedian to perform on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien." In 2010 Bill will be seen in the Steve Carell & Tina Fey feature, "Date Night," and he will star in his second hour Comedy Central special, which was recorded in December 2009 at The Fillmore in San Francisco.

Bill's "Monday Morning Podcast," an off-the-cuff weekly rant that has become a fan favorite, is available to play or download through Bill's website and is available on iTunes. Bill co-hosts his own Sirius XM radio show, "Uninformed", with fellow comedian Joe Derosa.

Bill's first hour special, "Why Do I Do This?" premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2008 to rave reviews and is now available on CD and DVD. His first CD, "Emotionally Unavailable: Expanded Edition," was released by What Are Records. Bill starred in his own HBO "One Night Stand" and "Comedy Central Presents" half hour specials and he has performed on "Showtime at the Apollo," BET's "Comic View" and Jamie Foxx's "Laffapalooza." In the future Bill hopes to get married and have some kids. But until then, he will continue to spend most of his mid-afternoons sitting in his sweatpants learning AC/DC songs on his SG. Bill is against organized religion and believes we should go back to the gold standard for our currency. None of his opinions are based on any sort of reliable information. He tends to go with his first thought, because reading makes him sleepy.

Carmen Matinee
To download tickets: http://www.seefilmfirst.com/pin/896874

Carmen is a French opera that premiered 135 years ago, Bizet died of a heart attack just 3 months later and never knew the heights of fame that his most famous work would reach.

The story is set in Seville, Spain, c. 1830, and concerns the eponymous Carmen, a beautiful Gypsy with a fiery temper. Free with her love, she woos the corporal Don José, an inexperienced soldier. Their relationship leads to his rejection of his former love, mutiny against his superior, and joining a gang of smugglers. His jealousy when she turns from him to the bullfighter Escamillo leads him to murder Carmen.

Produced by Rose Bruford College Graduating Students in Actor Musicianship.

Bizet's memorable score is reworked in a piece of music theatre that is both immediate and provocative.

This production is a new adaption especially for Actor Musicians, relocating the play in a contemporary Urban setting. Carmen's relationships are presented against a backdrop of Inner City tension and police surveillance, in a story of sexual passions that threaten the power of The State

Sunday After Noon at Leicester Square Theatre: Impropera

Serious music meets surreal comedy.

Improvised on the spot from the audience's suggestions, Impropera makes you the maestro and what you say, goes.

Aadvarks and arias. Tragedy and profanity. Come completely unprepared because anything is possible...

Weds 24th March Matinee 14:30 - Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett

To receive tickets: Unfortunately we have had too many 'no shows' for matinee performances. Therefore we we would request you check your diary to see if you can attend this performance, and if you can and would like ticket, please email request to Feedback@seefilmfirst.com heading the email: Waiting for Godot. We will let you know by Tuesday if you have been allocated tickets.

Starring SIR IAN MCKELLEN
Two old friends meet to converse, joke and argue with themselves as they wait through one day and then another for the mysterious Godot...the combination of music hall, poetry and tension redefined what is possible in theatre, so that today Waiting for Godot is accepted as one of the most significant plays of the 20th century.

When Samuel Beckett's play exploded on to the London stage 50 years ago, it shocked as many people as it delighted. There had never been a play like it; indeed it was said that: "(Beckett) has achieved a theoretical impossibility-a play in which nothing happens, that yet keeps audiences glued to their seats."
In a year rich with diverse drama Sean Mathias's 2009 production for the Theatre Royal Haymarket matched the success of the London premiere and proved one of the most successful plays of the season (indeed of any season) and broke all box office records for both the play and the theatre.
After a sold out national tour and an extended run in the West End, the Haymarket revives the production, again directed by Sean Mathias with Ian McKellen and Ronald Pickup returning to their memorable roles as Estragon and Lucky.
The highly acclaimed and award-winning actors, Roger Rees and Matthew Kelly now join them as Vladimir and Pozzo.

Free comedy tonight 19/03 Shaw Theatre

#47 Post by moondance » Fri Mar 19, 2010 10:49 am

We have a few complimentary tickets available to a comedy show tonight at The Shaw Theatre in Euston.

Comedy at its very best with this funny funny man, Jim Gaffigan

To download tickets: http://www.seefilmfirst.com/pin/922625

About Jim Gaffigan

Gaffigan was born in Chesterton, Indiana, He is one of six children and often jokes about growing up in a large family. He is of Irish descent, although in his Comedy Central Presents special he joked that his dad was Swedish and his mother was Elton John.

In 2009, Gaffigan guest starred as the "best friend" of Murray Hewitt the HBO comedy series Flight of the Conchords. Later in 2009, he appeared in the Sam Mendes-directed dramedy Away We Go and the teen comedy 17 Again. Hes been on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. He also appeared on Law & Order episodes "Flight" and "Reality Bites".
He also appeared in an episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as a man who, posing as a prolific Daily Show correspondent, obviously knows nothing about the show (refers to it as "The John Daily Show") and simply wants to be seen with Jon Stewart. It was meant to be a parody of the 2009 White House gatecrash incident.

Jim Gaffigan has proven himself a major talent beloved to a wide range of audiences after achieving milestones in stand-up, acting and writing. As approachable as he is edgy, Jim is responsible for some of the funniest and most memorable moments in recent television and film. His recent one-hour Comedy Central Special entitled Beyond the Pale has catapulted Gaffigan to one of the most popular touring and recorded comedians of the moment.
Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.

SFF messed up again. I just had an e-mail saying the following -

Apologies but this show is SATURDAY 20th MARCH - not tonight 19th. We hope you can still make it - your voucher will be valid as it stands for tomorrow night.

They have not changed the date on their website yet.
