Just looked at the BHS site and they look really good; I will get some for when I go street walking (I know that sounds dubious but you know what I mean) as I usually hill walk but would look a bit strange with walking boots and hiking poles walking down the streets. I aim to do 2 3km walks during the week and a couple of the workout DVD's which I got free in the telegraph.
My daughter has just shown me a picture of Charlotte Church on the front of the Closer magazine and I am almost identical shape to her on the before picture (without the youth and good looks) so I'll have to aim for the after weight loss picture (in my dreams).
When are you doing the race allsinging? You are really inspirational.
Hehe, I dare you to take those boots and hiking poles down the street  Nice program, Diane, i'll enter that on the sheet, as that was missing. Dont forget to quicken your pace in short bursts during your walks to increase your metabolism rate ;) Oh and I have slightly modified your target goal...

Its June 27th so that gives me about 12 weeks. My aim is to run but when i say I can't run I really do mean that. Yesterday i started a new program at the gym, so I'm running one min and walking one. Next week run 2, walk 2 and so on....so a slow process but its a goal.

It did make me smile when our Mr Motivator asked how long it took to run/jog 3km An ambulance ride and a good dose of oxygen :p

That picture is so funny if only
Thanks for the info on the pedometer Bevvy I will apply.
Love to have you in the club a_person.
Don't you find that you save a lot of money being on a diet? I had my toenails painted instead of going for a coffee and cake and it only cost me £5, now I have beautiful toenails just need to work on the rest of my body but it's a start!
Well done allsinging that is brilliant; I know what you mean about asking how long it takes to run 3km I've got to aim for a body like Charlotte Church I'm old enough to be her mother so without resorting to surgery I've got my work cut out.
We will all have to meet up when we reach our targets and share a salad and some water.

Just applied for my walking pack and have discovered that one of the walks goes pass the clinic I work at, so come the lighter nights I could do it after work. Horrified when ordering it that I'm now in the 45-54 category 8O Oh no jmd1983 I could also be your mother lol

Not been to the Gym in a few days, someone had a heart attack and died at my Gym the other day while they were on the treadmill and she was only 27 which is tragic, so its a bit off putting being there at the moment. At the minute I'm sticking to the pool.

Hate easter so much chocolate that I feel I need to eat, told my mum not to get me an egg this year, she said she'll get me DVD's instead.

Sure thing, a_person, we'd love to have you on board! Well done already for just coming on here. First thing first though, drop the embarasment expression! It doesnt matter what weight any of us are, its about being the healthiest we can be...and looking like Charlotte Church! So lets see your expression of optimism and excitement for an enjoyable journey ahead :) So you got a plan? Or shall we help ya because we'd be glad to, its what we do here ;) I for instance am a fake self deluded motivational trainer, unqualified, unprofessional and overweight...all the right credentials to help ya :D

a_person, chemenger and anyone else who'd like to be included in the fortnightly motivation chart: Tell us what your long term goals are, your training program, and your short term goals (ie the fortnightly goal). Optionally and recommended is to give your weight and height too, and even more ideally your body fat %. Then we can work out your ideal weight/target achieved at a healthy rate. I can also advise you of training programs to do and healthy eating because I have learnt much about the body and fitness, lost 22kg to show for it, and there's nothing more I want then to share the knowledge with you guys ;)
