Not a biopic of Hunt though, more of the rivalry between the two, Hunt and Lauda. Hunt does come across as a bit too nice, he was a charming bastard in real life.

Fiction could never tell a more impressive formula one story 9/10
Nice? I never once thought either of them as nice. Hunt was a (insert rhyming slang) and Lauda was so focussed on success and facts & figures, he forgot he was dealing with people. Doesn't detract from it being a fantastic film though.

they didn't emphasize his bad side enough in my view, toned him down by emphasizing the few good things he did. Unavoidable I guess, you need a few hooks to root at least a bit for his character in the last race.

F1 drivers generally aren't nice people, nevermind what the media tells us. They are usually ludicrously motivated driven idiots but they've learned how to put on a façade for the increasingly ubiquitous media in recent years.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I think they more than highlighted Hunt's womanising. The way he treated Suzy too.

I have later found out more about Lauda's relationship and the way he dumped her for the woman he would later marry. That wasn't mentioned in the film which makes it a little one-sided from that point of view.

I am such an F1 fan and so naturally, this film was on my must-see list. I attended the red carpet of this premiere and got to meet my F1 hero, Niki Lauda, upon whom the film is based along with Jenson Button and Sergio Perez of McClaren as well as the acting hunks and beauties (Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Bruhl, Olivia Wilde and an unexpected Liam Hemsworth). Safe to say, it was the best red carpet ever (and it was only my second time waiting by a red carpet).

I saw the film as soon as it was released. I loved it so much, I had to review it: http://officiallydiva.wordpress.com/201 ... w-of-rush/

I actually really enjoyed this film. I'm not really into F1 so didn't really know much about them in real life to be able to compare the film. My parents came a long though and they remember so made a good discussion on the way home. Cardiff showing which i attended was very busy which is good to see.

What a brilliant film. Loved this. Very entertaining. Totally amazed how much the actors were so liked the real people. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl played their characters so well. The story was riveting. But did they have to show Niki Lauda's operation in such detail and dwelled on it for so long - I had to avert my eyes - it was horrible. I did not know that James Hunt, sadly, died of a heart attack at 45, so young.

High score as I enjoyed it so much. 9/10

I liked this film and the grittiness portrayed of the sport and the era. Good performances all round and great action sequences. I generally like Ron Howard directed films so my score is probably a bit biased. 9/10.
