And to top it up, they were sff so not available immeadiately so to cancel it on the day is just stupidity. Then to post on MSE and send out notifications is just not necessary.
To make it even better - I'm at greenwich o2 now and it's like 20-30% full!! 10 unecessary tickets taken which could have gone to a good bum on the seat right now!!!
Waiting for the movie to start.... *sighs*

Just watched this at the Silverlink tonight - screening was about 75% full.
Pretty much an average middle of the road kind of film in my opinion. By no means atrocious but far from brilliant either. I found myself checking the time in a couple of places to see how long left it had to run (never a good sign imho). The story was kind of ambling and largely predictable but was saved to some extent by some humourous touches.
Most of the characters in the film were shallow and not properly developed so therefore seemed to lack any real substance - a missed opportunity! I tired of the numerous roller derby action shots and thought they looked rather staged rather than being very realistic, but I quite liked the swimming pool love scene, which was nicely done.
I got it into my head that the roller derby comentator (Jimmy Fallon) looked like one of the judges (John Torode) off Masterchef and I found this to be an irritating distraction everytime he was on screen.
My wife didn't like the film at all and complained that it was boring. My two teenage daughters, on the other hand, thought it was good. I thought it was OK (just) and would give it 6.5 out of 10. I was just trying to remember what the accompanying music was like, but can't really recall much about it to be honest - so not memorable by any means.
Technical problems with the sound for five to ten minutes or so in the last half hour did prove to be an annoyance.

Watched this at Vue Greenwich tonight. Screening started about 6:40pm but I think they were giving abit more time for people to come. The screening had so many empty seats - at most 35% full. There were a few children today. Was glad everybody in the audience behaved well today.
I found the film quite boring to start with, at one point I was anticipating of leaving the screening. (A couple did actually walk out.) What kept me going was the relationship that was forming between the mother and daughter - I thought that was quite interesting and touching (and also I liked the way the roller skates were moving!). I'm glad I stayed to watch it - it did get much better later on. I did enjoy Babe Ruthless's performance and how she toughens up abit. A fairly touching story with some humour in it. The story line (although very predictable) was nevertheless a good watch.
This is definitely not a show for everyone though. I think this will appeal alot to mothers and young teenage girls who have such a similar relationship to that shown on the film and will probably relate to it too (I know I did somewhat.

). I would recommend it only as a free screening! Would not encourage to p*y to watch this in the cinema! A good 6.5/10.

Quite enjoyed this film very easy to watch and didn't have to think too hard, my teenage daughter and her friend really enjoyed it 7/10 .

I saw this at Vue Islington, courtesy of SimonV. It was my 3rd film of the day and as the other two were good, I wouldn't have fared too badly if this hadn't been, but I enjoyed it and would rate it a respectable 7.5/10. I thought Ellen Page's character was more credible and sympathetic than in Juno, but why does Juliette Lewis always look so horrible? I know she was playing an unpleasant character but does she ever do anything else?

Saw this today at Apollo Picadilly Circus. To be honest, I liked the film. It was rather predictable but at least it was funny in parts. And I loved the roller derby scenes. It's the first time I watch a film involving sports that I actually enjoy the sports scenes (I was bored out of my skull during the rugby/american football scenes in Invictus and The Blind Side). 7/10

I thought the film was 'just okay' - the main performances were good, but I did not really get into the story at all - but then I was not the target audience for this one - though I am not exactly sure who was? I would have liked a bit less of the repetitive skating sequences and a bit more development of the characters and their relationships.
I had not even watched the trailer before going in - more fool me, so my DH and I were like WTF when the roller derby started!
I thought the swimming pool love scene was the best scene in there. 5/10.

I took a my girls 10 and 9 to see this along with a few friends with kids about the same age, as the rating was a 12a... I so so shocked

by some of the conversations I didnt no if I should have removed my girls... The talk was for much older than a 12a audience. Defo not for a 12a group. My girls have seen most of the 12a films out now and never a problem, until now. Both loved the twilight saga and my 10 year old has read all the books, But this film was to old for her...
I really believe this has been wrongly rated.. and most parents in the liverpool screening seemed to agree..

Does anybody know who you put your age-rating reviews to, get the age up-d??

This is the the Guidelines for a 12A film, so you shouldnt have no complaints, as the film is meant for over 12,s to watch
Suitable for 12 years and over. No-one younger than 12 may see a ‘12A’ film unless accompanied by an adult. Responsibility for allowing under 12s to view lies with the accompanying or supervising adult.
Theme: Mature themes are acceptable, but their treament must be suitable for young teenagers.
Language: The use of strong language (eg 'f***') must be infrequent. Racist abuse is also of particular concern.
Nudity: Nudity is allowed, but in a sexual context it must be brief and discreet.
Sex: Sexual activity may be implied. Sex references may reflect what is likely to be familiar to most adolescents but should not go beyond what is suitable for them.
Violence: Violence must not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood. Sexual violence may only be implied or briefly and discreetly indicated.
Imitable techniques: Dangerous techniques (eg combat, hanging, suicide and self-harming) should not dwell on imitable detail or appear pain or harm free. Easily accessible weapons should not be glamorised.
Horror: Sustained moderate threat and menace are permitted. Occasional gory moments only.
Drugs: Any misuse of drugs must be infrequent and should not be glamorised or instructional.
