The scenery was very nice especially Iceland and Greenland. As for the film it was harmless enough 5/10
On another positive note I have finally beaten my number of films I watched last year with this film :D

Saw this on Monday at 4.30pm Wester Hailes. Had heard mixed reviews but I am a fan of Ben Stiller so thought it would be fine....and it was

A well filmed easy to watch movie with several funny moments and Ben got better looking as the film moved on....definately suits the rugged beard look. I thought it would be full of day dream moments but was pleasantly surprised that was not the case. Not sure I would have pa*d to go and see it but certainly did not regret going for free. x

Well son returned from seeing this some days back and said it grew on him so I had my turn last night and have to agree. I thought Ben Stiller was surprisingly good -- possibly because I'm not a great fan so my expectations weren't sky high but I found the film undemanding and quite charming. No audience distractions at Islington Vue and happy to meet pxc's OH who kindly kept me company in the back row.

Surprised by negative comments about this film. I found it engrossing [for a 2 hour film] and quirky. It's been billed as a comedy but I think that's misleading. It's more a humorous film than laugh-out-loud. Also intrigued by comments re. children. Just because a film is PG does not mean it's a kid flick. It is perfectly possible to have a grown-up adult film that's rated PG or even U. I too felt there was a certain affinity with Forrest Gump; innocent abroad etc. But Mitty was not as soft-centred as Gump. Stiller was good, but McClaine and Penn stole the film. The latter reminded me of Brando in Apocalypse Now, only appearing towards the end but being the centre of the movie. Yes, enjoyed the whole thing and would recommend.

8/10; I really took to this film and managed to see past the slightly clumsy product placement and into the heart of something quite sweet and endearing. My goodness, Sean Penn's voice could command an army! His voiceover work is also wonderful in Persepolis. The movie had such a feel good factor going for it that you could almost forgive Kristen Wiig for Girl Most Likely. Almost. ;)

On a bum note, to the dickheads at Bournemouth who rushed at the doors despite being amongst the last to arrive, you are feral dickheads. It's too bad ignorance isn't painful.

Not much I can say about this movie apart from the fact I found it ridiculous.

Would much rather have watched the old Danny Kaye version. In fact I would much rather have watched nothing at all.

2/10

Couldn't agree more, I loved the scenery and the film was fun enough.

It's been pretty hard to avoid the trailer for this over the last few months but despite the mixed feedback it's getting on this thread I am (sort of) looking forward to seeing this in the next week or so.

However, I can't shake the feeling that Ben Stiller wasn't the right choice for this film and someone like Jim Carrey would have been a far better fit...
