Re: The Diary Room
look I did haggle in a charity shop yes. but I believe in p*ying a bill for a meal properly in a group too - you have to match your payment to the company you keep after all, or don't join that company in the first place.
can anyone think of any good new years day movies, not necessarily in the cinema, but recent.
I have down Gravity and Another Earth.

Gosh, the NYE fireworks have started early this year! I know it's dark, but.... this practice seems to have mushroomed from nothing in just the last few years: not so long ago, fireworks were literally an annual event, on Bonfire Night. Now people have them for anything and everything. And it's not even a nice evening for it tonight, or not where I am - raining all day, with flooding and mud everywhere.

Re: The Diary Room
In Germany you are only allowed to have private fireworks at New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and they don't go on sale before 27th December. When I came over here I was very surprised that people seem to shoot rockets into the air all year round - but not really on New Year's Eve, apart from the official fireworks that towns put on?Ms Thrifty wrote:Gosh, the NYE fireworks have started early this year! So, hey, keep it coming tonight.

Re: The Diary Room
Well I am having another early night, fireworks or no fireworks! I got a few days' temping at short notice, starting last Friday, and whilst I was glad of the money (well, I will be, when eventually I am pa*d - at the end of January if I'm lucky) I've had 5 consecutive early shifts so have had to leave home before 5.30 am each day as there are no trains at present and the buses are slow and infrequent. Now the trains are about to resume, I have a late shift for a change - Sod's Law!
