Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Thank you so much for all the feedback and you've sold it to me. I too have seen Beverley Knight in a free concert with Jordsmum a couple of years back and she is sensational. I will definitely be booking it and it looks like an overnight stay in London to make sure that Beverley Knight is performing so now need to up my work hours even more to get saving (yet again)

A limited number of day seats for The Bodygaurd at £25 are available in person at the Adelphi Theatre Box Office from 10.00am on the day of performance.Diane65 wrote:Thank you so much for all the feedback and you've sold it to me. The seats are on the very front row. The tickets go on sale at 10am,however you should plan on turning about 9am to guarantee a ticket.

If you wanted to take up that suggestion you'd either need to hop on a very very early train or stay overnight before which would negate any savings - unless you can find someone queuing up for tickets for you? However, it's a bit risky - what if you come all the way and don't manage to get day seats?

That's always the danger with day tickets. It's ideal if your in London but not ideal if your travelling far. The half price ticket booth in Leicester Square has always discount tickets listed for the show. They do sell them a few days in advance if someone was able to b*y them for you.

Thanks so much scootermcc for the suggestion and you have got me thinking we may even get a matinee for another show on the second day
I don't need much encouragement to be led astray
I agree Beate as after the disappointment of last time having Love Never Dies cancelled on me after booking the train and hotel I won't be doing that again. On the positive side of that we did see The Rivals instead which was just wonderful.
Now working out the logistics of it - I can do the return train journey for £6 with my redspottedhanky vouchers, have a meal out with my Tesco clubcard vouchers, already have a loaded Oyster card so it would just really be the hotel as extra as already planned on p*ying for the theatre ticket. I'll get looking on the accommodation thread now. The more thrifty I am the more I can do
We could even go to John Lewis for our free coffee and cakes

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
Mum, kids and I are going down to London next weekend for three days........I am armed to the hilt with vouchers!! We're gonna do the usual sight-seeing stuff like the London Eye, Madam Tussauds ect. I have audience tickets for a tv prog on the sunday, just for something to do! lol I also have 50quid in theatre tokens and I reallllyyyyy would like to see Les Mis or Wicked! But the latter is coming to Edinburgh in November so we can maybe wait til then. What are our chances of getting tickets from the tkts booth to see Les Mis?
Preferred cinemas: Any in Edinburgh!

If you go to a ticket booth, ONLY go to TKTS the rest are rip-offs and actually don't have offers. You can see here what's on sale:
http://www.tkts.co.uk/whats-on-sale/
Other Les Mis ticket offer info:
Upper Circle J1 and 2 for £20 are decent, or A2 and 28 allow you to see almost two thirds of the show at £10. A reader also noted that once all other seats are sold, she got standing room at 3pm for a Saturday 7.30pm show, but advises turning up far earlier for that. £10 week / £12.50 Friday and Saturday, and all performances after 28th April 2014, she says. I've b*ght day tickets for most of the West End Shows that sell day tickets and have never been turned away disappointed. However I always turn up well before the box office is due to open. I think when I waited for The Bodyguard tickets there were only another couple of people in the line when the box office opened.
http://www.theatremonkey.com is good site for tips on b*ying tickets.

Thanks for the links canadian_turtle. Yeah i think the only place i can use the tokens are at the proper tkts booths. Think it will be a case of chucking our suitcases in the room and then heading out to join the queue lol my kids will be chuffed!!canadian_turtle wrote:If you go to a ticket booth, ONLY go to TKTS the rest are rip-offs and actually don't have offers.
