I agree, The Total never actually does Manchester screenings, they do both Ashton and Bolton regularly, but for anyone who actually lives in Manchester these are too far to realistically get to for a 6.30pm screening, with the distance and it being rush hour. I have tried a couple of times and it takes an hour or more just to get there just sat in traffic, a bit quicker on the return trip, but I just dont bother with these now. Everyone has their limits of what they are prepared to do for a free film, I dont mind travelling to anywhere else in Manchester, but these 2 places are just to far for me.

No idea why they dont do the Didsbury Cineworld, which is what I would class as the Manchester Cineworld or even Stockport or rotate between the different cinemas so everyone could occasionally attend, as when I did attend they were not full, I assume because of where they are and the difficulties to get there, surely it would be to their advantage to have full screenings so more people could spread the word
At a guess, it is because they "keep" Didsbury for the big event film previews as it is hailed as one of Cineworld's jewels in the crown, so to speak.

Does't look as though the Sun have any for the next 2 weeks as they usually show any screenings in the symbols at the top of the page. Sadly I think things may be a little barren for us . . . unless a few surprise screeniings appear. In fact, earlier this evening I was saying that if Cineworld was a little easier to park at for me I would now consider b*ying an Unlimited Card. I may have to consider that . . . or start to suffer withdrawal symptoms!
You should get one especially if you know someone who will give you a refer a friend code meaning you both get an extra month for free. The Unlimited Card is excellent value and if you are limited for time, you could maybe see two films in one day. It gives you back up if free previews clash or you can't make one for some reason. Once you've seen two films in your month, the rest are free. They show Unlimited previews which don't always make it to all Cineworld Cinemas and you get discount off food and drinks. Once you've been with them for 12+ you don't p*y the uplift for 3D films and you get 25% off refreshments. Of course, it does help if you are open minded enough to watch most genre and types of film otherwise it probably wouldn't be worth the money. What I really like is that I can watch Events such as Coriolanus at the cinema for £5. You get a fabulous view, far better than at the theatre and without the cost of travelling to London.

BTW I haven't been to Showcase for a little while, have their Insider prices increased from £5 to £6 now?? N

Just checked the showcase website and they have pushed the insider price up to £6.

That means that their Insider previews which used to be free, have risen in price from £5 to £6 in a very short space of time and even though they advertise them as "Exclusive", never are and free previews can be found elsewhere.

Speaking to one of the showcase staff who told me that showcase plan to do away with the 3D surcharge. Don't know how reliable that info is. I would imagine if they did that they would just cover the loss by raising the normal price.

Interesting, because the company will still have to p*y the fees to the 3D company so (as you state) they will have to recoup the money somewhere else.

Two so far this year at my local Cineworld, both Sun+ and both kiddy films, argh!

The planned (but still not started) Vue can't come soon enough.

Not so many free viewings in Edinburgh so far. Missing the Sunday morning freebie at The Cameo. Saying that, nearly every cinema in Edinburgh has free viewing's of The Book Thief either today or tomorrow. Managed to get one for the Vue which is easier for me than Cineworld which is also showing on same night. Why does some movies have plenty of free tickets yet others it's limited cinemas? Definitely spotting an increasing trend for offers only going to those that have subscriptions to a newspaper/publication.

Whoops forgot there was one more preview so far this year at my local but it was posted on SFF FB with just a few hours notice so I missed it.
I do regret not joining Sun+ when they had the £10 voucher offers for a £1 fee, but TBH wouldn't have wanted to see either film that has been on offer at my local anyway,

I see Cineworld are the official "Regional Tour sponsors" of BAFTA Film Awards 2014, so fingers crossed we get some BAFTA screenings announced next week. No newspaper sponsors so maybe just on Cineworld like last year?
