people put on weight and probably more still to be discovered. When I was 20-30ish I ate lots of the wrong stuff but never put on weight. But meds made me. So I recon there is a lot more underlying things than just eating. All the crazy chems in everything can have god knows what affects on certain genetic make-ups. Even chems that have come and gone could have change genetic make-up and caused a predisposition to weight gain at a later date - all i can think of is leaded petrol - the nasty tetra-methyl additive which before being banned was discovered in every organism on the planet which was tested - that could be a route cause and has just not been discovered yet. Sorry, i ramble on a bit.
Anyway, I hope everybody has a great/fabulous/fruitful weekend. I hope your weigh in's go well and you all eat and be happy :) :) :) and those venturing into the great outdoors get a wee break in the weather. I'll come back for another rambling session next week...... cheery bye :) :) :)
It is true though stone_monkey ask anyone on this site as everybody who has met me has seen me eating a cake  I am very lucky in the sense that if I overeat I put on weight but if I cut back and exercise more I do lose it, I do enjoy exercising so just need to tip the balance to get some weight off as I am just in the normal weight range but my build looks better lighter. You don't ramble on at all and if I spent as much time rambling in the country rather than on here I would be fitter and lighter.

We're happy to read your ramblings! Plus it sort of deflects from just how bad a lot of us are being lol. I am trying to get back into the swing of things, weights every day this week and swimming tomorrow but by goodness I have been eating for Scotland!!! Which is surprising as I can hardly lift my arms but where there's a will.......

And I may or may not have joined John Lewis for free cake *cough* 8O

Haha folks,
Free cake and coffee - I joined john lewis for that. I haven't been yet but I think I still have 3 months of vouchers left. Does anyone now If they do a nice pot of tea. I used to be a coffee monster but now I'm quite partial to a nice cuppa. Where I live there is a great cafe called 'The Spoon' - they do a lovely pot of loose leaf tea and nice slice carrot cake - yum. I sometimes meet people there after the gym and drink gallons of the stuff :-) - all in the name of rehydration and replenishing my energy levels of course :P

Purchased a Cineworld Card, so I'm seeing a lot less free films as i am not travelling as far to see them.

Ah ha, I went for empire biscuits yesterday as my end of week treat - they were sold out :( devastation - so I ended up with blueberry muffins. Nearly had a heart attack when I read they were 25% sugar - but they did taste nice. Its crazy but every week after my weigh in I treat myself to a cake now - I can't figure it out. I shall head to j lewis this week for my free pot of tea but I did promise my cake to my friend Jenny - maybe half each :-)

The effects of the painkillers are dying down now, less scratching and my brain works Soo much better. I was worse coming off the damn things than taking them!!

I found my TRACY dvd Diane65, OH had put it in the upstairs 'computer room' on a shelf with his books!! I was looking for some colouring pencils for grandson to use when she jumped out at me. Will be adding her to my routines this week.

Stone -monkey I put on loads of weight when I went on my GF diet and then I had kidney failure (for no apparent reason??)about 10 years ago and put on even more. Trying to get rid of it has been a story of denial and defeat. But, I now I feel I have the support to go for it.

Confession, I too joined up for the John Lewis tea and cake but wont be having the cake.... don't think they would do gf anyway.

Thanks all

So glad that you are starting to feel better Baty and delighted that Tracey isn't lost forever. We are always here to support you Baty. I've been good today to make up for yesterday's mid afternoon blip  Done a couple of hours in the garden tidying up and now off on a 4 mile walk - no idea where to as yet but by the time I get my shoes on I'll think of somewhere.

Be good everyone o/

Baty as I went on my walk today I decided to walk to John Lewis and find out for you. They do the http://www.honeybuns.co.uk cake range which is included in the deal :cheer: - the almond moon one would be the one I would choose. In Trafford Centre they had a selection of layered shortbreads, brownies, cakes and flapjacks. They are next to the till not with the cakes.

Wow, Diane -- above and beyond the call of duty and hope that Baty enjoys a gluten free treat in John Lewis. When it comes to cakes, you take the biscuit!
