Fantastic 9/10
Don't forget to stay for the scene after the end credits.

Re: X Men: Days of Future Past
Highly enjoyable with great action scenes and special effects and it does well to combine the old and new casts. However I did feel that some of the characters got the short end of the stick and had too little screen time or their character lacked a decent story arc. 8/10.

Re: X Men: Days of Future Past
Saw this today and thought it was excellent.
Maybe some of the characters get too little screen time but the First Class cast get plenty of time and are again fantastic.
As ever the themes and conflicts of the characters dominate, but not at the expense of good old fashioned spectacle and it was pleasing that there wasn't a CGI filled endless city destroying battle to end the film that left you checking your watch like so many recent blockbusters.
Nice end credits sequence, can't wait for the next instalment 9/10

Re: X Men: Days of Future Past
I saw this earlier and although its a good movie, its spoiled for me because its impossible for the sentinels to exist in 1973. This was a time when computers still used tape drives bigger than record players and memory was measured in kilobytes for the supercomputers of the day.
The hand held mutant detector is possible to build today but the equivalent then would need to be housed in a large lorry.
For me these are major niggles that spoiled my enjoyment of the movie. It was otherwise an excellent yarn. 8/10

[spoiler]I have not read the comics but, to put it simply: you see the world's first mutant and there are chanting hordes of followers and/or slaves chanting the name “En Sabah Nur” (Apocalypse’s secret identity) and some display of his power.jeanelle wrote:Please can someone post a spoiler about the end credits sequence, they didn't show it at the Mountain Dew screening!

Re: X Men: Days of Future Past
Although I didn't think this was quite as good as 'First Class' it was still very enjoyable indeed.
Thought that they did a good job of combining the original story with what had occurred in the other X-Men movies and tidied things up quite nicely in terms of moving forward.
Overall it gets an 8/10 from me & I just hope that Quicksilver gets more screen time next time around as his scenes really did stand head & shoulders above everything else...
