Yep, Clapham isn't as nice as Greenwich Picturehouse. The incline was good but the seats weren't adjustable, and we nearly made a grave error of judgement when we went for the last row as usual, only to figure out after a while that there was no legroom to speak of while the row in front had plenty of it. So we moved. Got some annoying fidgeters next to us who shook the row every time they moved, and some talkers in front, but they suddenly upped and left at 8.20pm. The screening was very full and in 3D. I am not saying this lightly but the use of 3D was really excellent.
I thought this film was the right side of quirky and I liked it very much, even Helena Bonham Carter did not annoy me this time. It was also often laugh-out-loud funny!
8/10

I thought it was a very pretty movie with some charming moments, but all the American mythologising felt like a US Republican's wet dream.

I really enjoyed this, visually it was at times rather special, the cast was pretty decent & I thought the final twenty minutes or so were really quite touching.
It wasn't as good as 'Amélie' but I definitely preferred it to 'Micmacs' so overall it did enough to get an 8/10 from me...

I liked the visuals and the director's flair and for once I thought the 3D was excellent. Quirky and winsome at times but not as witty as I expected. 7.5/10.
