Today is my official start over again so I need to start keeping my food diary once again and drinking more water than I have. Fingers crossed I can keep it up this time!

One of the boys took me to b*y proper running shoes today. It was less than fun, but I've just managed my first full 5k run in them.

You have done so well asaaimic. I'm sure the proper running shoes will make a difference.asamaic wrote: One of the boys took me to b*y proper running shoes today. It was less than fun, but I've just managed my first full 5k run in them. Now I just need to pick up the pace!
I have been having physio on my foot and my walking has improved, hips and back do not ache after walking short distances. Pain still there but the foot now has more movement. Slow and steady with quality of steps not quantity being order of the day. So, posture has improved

My thoughts exactly! I'm even now using my blender in the mornings to make kale based smoothies which taste awesome!asamaic wrote:It's never too late to start again!distortthecode wrote:I've had a baaadddd two months, since Easter I've had a change in job so I've not been keeping with my diet at all and as a result have put all my weight back on

So much more comfortable to run in the proper shoes, especially in the long run, I'll be investing in a pair soon too!

Re: Weight Watchers
Kale smoothies sound like they taste disgusting. What do you put in it other than the obvious kale?

Re: Weight Watchers
My main one is Milk (or Water), Banana, Cashews, Dates and Cocoa Powder. But then I might put in other fruit instead of the cocoa and also add stuff like chia seeds or rolled oats. You can't really taste the kale to be honest. And then if I'm having one later in the day I like doing a fruity greens so it'll be kale, spinach, apple, pineapple, avocado, mango and pear. They sound so bad but they taste amazing.

They sound delicious. How much of each do you use as I want to try making one?distortthecode wrote:My main one is Milk (or Water), Banana, Cashews, Dates and Cocoa Powder. For the breakfast one it makes enough for me to have a glass at home and fill a travel mug for me to have the rest at work it is:Diane65 wrote:They sound delicious. 1 large glass of cold water (or milk)
1 packed cup of kale
1 banana
5 dates
Large handful of cashews
4 tsps. cocoa powder (I use Green & Blacks)
(roughly 1/2 cup of oats and some chia seeds as I want if I want them)
I put it all into the blender as one in the order it is listed above and blend until all mixed together.
For the fruity greens, I like to use this recipe but with a whole apple, a whole pear and a cup of kale as well and it makes a really good amount!

Re: Weight Watchers
I think I may have overdone the race training this weekend. Struggling to move today!
One of my serious running friends says to stop running a few days before the big race to rest up properly. That means I have this week left to train and that's it!
This race is by far one of the stupidest things I have agreed to do. From now on, I'm not agreeing to anything until I've had at least 3 coffees. I feel I make poor decisions decaffeinated...

It's gone quiet... 'Fess up, who's fallen off the wagon?
Time to get back on!
I'm running in a few days, eeek! There have been a few drop outs, so apparently bailing is an option, but I'm determined to get around the course. Still think it was a stupid thing to sign up for, but I am a girl of my word!
