Breaking news from Reuters: 'andrews reduced to tears for the first time in years!'

Yes, I have to confirm the above statement. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. Big softie that I am! Tried telling myself to get a grip, but it was no use. Tried to disguise the fact that I was blubbing, but no-one else seem to notice - a few of them were too.
Although this was not a very well acted film, the storyline was passable, and obviously moved me. I think that these youngsters have to learn how to become actors and actresses, and it is the same for Miley Cyrus. She will probably make several poor/mediocre films as many actresses before her - she may make the grade - she may not. But I am not going to be too critical of her performance. How many of us could have done that at her age?

I've enjoyed it. Go and see it. 8/10 from me :D

I agree totally with your review and bless you being reduced to tears, I had tears yet again and 2 men on the back row at the printworks were so upset.

Ill ditto that exactly, less than half full at Wimbledon and the film was better than I expected, slightly better than Dear John,

So 7/10

Yes it was better than I had expected - though I think they should have warned us to take more tissues with us!

I loved it - much better than I expected, and when the little brother cried - that did it - started my tears rolling too! I thought it by far much better than Dear John. 9/10

Agree here with you Beate. What a hunky boyfriend, and not only clever but sensitive too! I thought Miley was good as the sulky teenager and loved the little brother's comic wisdom.

:rofl2: :rofl2: Glad we did not obstruct your view! And lovely to see you too Beate.

First time I have NOT been asked for an ID at Whiteleys - usually I get the Spanish Inquisition! :x

Saw this last night at Whiteleys and I too was pleasantly surprised, predictable, corny but that's not always a bad thing. Thought it was nicely acted too.
First time I've ever been asked for ID, maybe because it was a Telegraph promotion and not SFF.

I saw this at the Silverlink with my family on Tuesday. My daughters (12 and 14) were great Hannah Montana fans when they were younger, and they were both looking forward to it tremendously.

It was an entertaining, if quite predictable, story in a picturesque sea setting. I think that its a very similar film to Dear John from a basic story and location point of view. Both Nicholas Spark's stories I understand.

I know that Andrews has her own views about this :shifty: , but I thought Miley Cyrus’s performance let the film down a little. I felt that she was a little wooden on occasion and a bit below par compared to the other members of the cast.

The comedy younger brother gave a great performance and he reminded me of the kid out of Blind Side.

Miley has a lovely slim figure, but her face seemed to look quite chunky and appeared much fuller than in her Hannah Montana days. That’s not meant as criticism, just an observation.

The dad character reminded me of Hugh Lawrie in House. He gave a great measured performance as did the boyfriend.

The Preston1990 clan all enjoyed this one. I give it 8.5 out of 10.
