A Stadium For York

#1 Post by domchalk » Mon May 03, 2010 7:24 am

Morning guys,

I'm sure plenty of you don't give a monkeys either way about the following topic. However being a York City fan and having family links with the city I am posting the following:

York desperately needs a new stadium. I've signed the petition - please do the same here: http://www.petition.fm/petitions/stadiumyork

It would not only benefit the football club but the city aswell. The stadium debate has been ongoing for years so this is the first really positive step which involves keeping it in the city centre where it is needed too!

See more here too: http://www.astadiumforyork.com/

Thanks

Have just signed it, I've no interest in football but the Manchester teams have lovely stadiums (been to Christmas partys there thats how I know) and York should have the same.

My family have just signed the petition, and I have sent the details to my brothers. I hope you get the 5000 signatures that you need.
I notice that some wag has signed Steven Gerrard, David Beckham and Fernando Torres as well.

I have no links with York but being a sportsman and believer in the promotion of sports for young and old in all corners of the world, I'll sign that petition with pleasure. I like the way the arch Bishop campaigns for it by boasting "we have the best church in the world, York Minster, so lets build the best stadium". I have no comment on wether it is the best church or not but I just had to laugh at my sudden vision of priests preaching in a competitive manner "my church is better than yours, nnyaa"!

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

There are 869 signatures so far - somewhat short of the 5000 needed. Must send out a few more e-mails to my friends. :D

In addition to hoping York are successful in securing a new stadium, I also want to wish them all the very best for the Conference play off final, as a Stevenage Borough fan, I wanted to thank York for their sporting applause etc at the last regular game of the season at the Lamex.

Hey domchalk, how's this petition going? Can all members get cracking and lend a hand here by voting?
