Re: Iron Man 2
Just saw it. Wow.
Erm, that wasn't anything, that was like a mid-point between the first one, which had an actual proper villain, almost, and a sequel, half of it was freaking TV based stuff or SHIELD, irrelevant in anything except shamelessly building up a franchise on our dime.
2/10 cos Rockwell was good, poor guy.

Re: Iron Man 2
I thought it was good but not as good as the first film sadly.
The film was a little uneven and dragged out 2 much in some scenes.
Most of the peformances are pretty good but I found Rourke's Vanko a little neglected especially at the end.
I think the pressure of doing this whole Avengers ensemble film hurt Iron Man 2 a little as well by introducing certain characters like Black Widow but I did like Jackson's Nick Fury.

i thought it was very good . did everybody wait to watch all of the credits for the ending scene there was only 6 of us left in the pictures waiting for it everybody had gone . well worth waiting for . it looked like thor is going to be in the next film . wich could be good

Re: Iron Man 2
Did anyone notice that Sam Rockwell had his hands tinted of the same color of his hair in the scene where he is having dinner next to the white plane? He must've brushed his hair with his hands and the make up people not the cameraman notice it.
Also how come Mickey Rourke lost his legs in the race circuit and then he is walking like "Pedro in his house" ?( venezuelan saying)
(Yes... it's true I 've got nothing else to do until the evening)

Re: Iron Man 2
I found it way too long... and it wasn't gripping enough for an action movie. The first one was better!

I noticed San Rockwells orange hands too!
I enjoyed it. It was nonsence but entertaining enough. I agree it was not as good as the first one though.
Took the other half for his birthday with the free tickets I got from the direct holiday brochures a few months back and he loved it!
Don't know how Odeon get away with charging £8 for tickets though that's the most expensive in Edinburgh and there's no parking!
Still it was a nice night out.

I noticed this too looked like he had been doing the fake tan and forgot to wash his hands afterwards!alythonian wrote:I noticed San Rockwells orange hands too!
I did enjoy it though and loved Robert Downey Jr - he can do no wrong in my eyes.
The racetrack scene where Mickey Rouke first came in had very good effects.
Had free list suspended at my cinema, but managed to get in with a £10 odeon voucher that had almost fallen to pieces it had been in my purse so long and got the change back as cash.

Re: Iron Man 2
Saw this early doors tonight. I never saw the first Iron Man film or watched any trailers for this one, so I didn't really know what to expect. All in all I was disappointed. I thought that there were some OK performances from the cast, but I found the storyline tiresome quite honestly. The thing seemed too long and I felt that the racetrack action scenes lacked authenticity. I was pleased when it ended.
I give it 6 out of 10.

Re: Iron Man 2
I saw this last night, and like many other members was disappointed with it. It was far too long, lacked cohesion, and I felt that they were just trying to cash in on the original film. Not even Robert Downey Jnr could raise the bar on this one. I enjoyed Sam Rockwell's performance, but felt that Mickey Rourke as Vanko was lacking. My husband kept looking at his watch, and his words on leaving were: "Absolute rubbish!"
I won't be b*ying the DVD. Or the video game which was advertised before the film started.
5/10 from me, but only because RDJ was on screen.

Re: Iron Man 2
Just back from watching this at Boldon Cineword with BOGOF voucher.
I have been looking forward to this movie for ages as I love comic book films and thought the first movie was fantastic. We like looking out for Stan Lee and we all spotted him.
This film lacked the humour and suspense of the first but did have amazing effects and was visually stunning. However, I too felt it went on for far too long and the final confrontation with the bad guy 'Vanko' was rather dissapointing. RDJ was a joy to watch and perfectly cast for this character (oh those pretty eyes).
Hubbie 8/10
(11 yr old) Son 10/10
Me 6/10
Probably worth waiting for DVD
