Should we start a new thread for Mockingjay Part 1?

Anyway, here's my review.

Went to the Mockingjay Part 1 premiere at Leicester Square Odeon, thanks to elski wining tickets, which seems to be like gold dust this time, the odds of winning were very low indeed, despite so many comps.

What a pity it was then to find that as we went in, we had to pass through a massive tent where our bags were searched, and our bodies bleeped, and our phones and cameras confiscated! I understand the security search due to London being on high alert, but to have phones and cameras confiscated was sad! So no trying to snap the stars on the red carpet, let alone get a photo with them. So it was no fun on the red carpet this time, and we could not snap any of them on the stage either when the cast came on, and they happened to walk pass our seats as they came on to the stage. We were so close with only the security guards between us.

Jennifer Lawrence was so pretty and looked fabulous in a really pretty dress. Elzabeth Banks in a beautiful flimsy chiffon dress, said she was cold, and it is no wonder, it hardly covered her as well as being flimsy! Julianne Moore was so tiny even with 8 inches heels which she struggled to walk in!

On to the film, after much anticipation, I did not think it was as good as Catching Fire. That one blew me away. This was much slower paced and you really got to know the characters, especially, Jennifer as Katniss was superb. She definitely makes the film. It left me wanting more, and I can't wait for the final one! 8/10

I didn't start a new thread because Catching Fire discussions ended up on here. Since the first two films were in one thread I assumed it would carry on.


I thought the film was great and very faithful to the book. Not as good as Catching Fire but that's more because I would prefer CF over the first half of Mockingjay book. They've added a lot of detail in there that never gets mentioned, like the tattoo schedules, not actually mentioned but at one point I spotted one Finnick's arm. So I definitely want to see it again to pick up on even more of the small things.

The only niggle I have is that Coin comes across as more likeable than I was expecting
