True. Makes a good story though.
It does indeed but does mankind have such a bleak future??
I could not think of any films that has a happier future.
I googled and got the same debate on these two websites;

its rampant in teen fiction because it simplifies the world, making it more black and white, good/evil and makes you feel important and valued on a world level(ie you identify with someone who changes the world). And it suits them because, if you'd not had a tough deal in life, then imagining you are in a tough world is a fun suit to wear for a day.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

I really hate to extend the case to HG because the franchise has been outstanding and doesn't deserve being 'categorised', but yeah. Though the first place dem kiddies are going after each HG screening is MackyD's to stuff themselves again. They aint going hungry lol.

Thanks to elski I saw this at Holloway and it was great to meet prettyxcool for the first time.
Although it was my second viewing I was surprised at how much I had forgotten about it, it was almost like I was seeing it for the first time again. My original review was quite negative with a score of only 5/10, but I enjoyed the film much more the second time and now have to up my score to 7/10.
