It didnt bring me any luck last time! Just left me with really itchy burn mark on my shoulder and a barrel full of laughs emanating from my cold hearted friends next to me :)

Lothian Buses day ticket is £3.50 valid all day on bus and tram and there is also a night ticket which does buses and trams from 6.00 pm which covers night buses too. this might be of use depending on where folks are staying.

Also as you go up the High Street to the Castle you pass George IV Bridge.
A few minutes walk down (away from Princes Street) you come to the Elephant House
http://www.elephanthouse.biz/ where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter.
and a few steps further the monument to Grey Friars Bobby http://www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/Hi ... ars-Bobby/
just beside is old GreyFriars Kirk
Sounds great, Marjoreemarjora. Thank you.

Just went on the elephant house website and watched the JK Rowling interview sitting in that cafe drinking what looks to be a well rounded cuppa coffee. I want to have a coffee in there now and write my first few sentences of a book, bestseller guaranteed :)

Glad to see that you intend to behave yourself on this trip ;)

Ooh this looks good. We need to get a proper plan in gear to see who wants to do what so we don't miss out on these tours at such a good price.

I'm up for this tour is anyone else? Who wants to go to the Royal Yacht Brittania? Sightseeing tour etc.

We could do MrGlass's trip on the Friday, sightseeing free things on the Saturday before and after the meet up plus this £5 ghost tour in the evening. Then the Yacht on Sunday morning. It would be a lot of money if we did the Castle and Holyrood House too but also a shame for people not to go in and see them if they wanted to. Please don't feel obliged to do anything I suggest these are purely my suggestions.

I would love to do this ghost tour too, it is a good deal.

We need to make sure that they have availability for the time and day we want, since we have to p*y in advance as it is an Amazon deal, we need to have a firm decision. The ghost tour is at 6pm or 8pm and lasts 75 minutes. If we have a firm number, I can call to make sure they have space on that tour, ask them to reserve it while we b*y the deal online. I can't see when the deal ends, so the sooner we make the decision the better.

There is also an offer on groupon for a visit to John Knox House. 2 people for £5. Don't know if this is worth a visit?
