Diane65 wrote:Sounds like the perfect choice. Is the 40% off all food when you spend over £20 or just on the first £20? If it's the first then we'll (if we want to -sorry bossy mode kicking in) have to get person 1 to recommend person 2 then person 2 to recommend person 3 etc to make sure that we all get the best deal. Does it work with the other deals ie 2 starters for £6
Getting excited and my planning head is kicking in. I do enjoy having a plan.
That is what I was thinking. However, you need 10 points to unlock the Save 40% off your next bill when you spend £20 on food. So I am thinking, it is only £20 of food? Image

For every one of your friends that signs up, your account will be credited with one point. So one person has to recommend 10 friends to register to unlock the offer. I had to register to see the offers, so now I have to recommend 10 friends to get the offer. But it looks like only 40% of £20 of food, which is an £8 savings. So for two people, if say they spend £20 after the 40% off it is £6 each, for 3 people spending £20, it works out as £4 each. But you do need 10 people to register, and they will not benefit :(

With the £5 off voucher you get for just registering, so everyone benefits. You spend £15 and get £5 off - so for an example if you spend £15 for two people, then with the £5 off, it will only cost £5 each for two people.
Image

Also for 20% off your next bill when you spend £10 on food you need to two points (two friends to register via your recommendation link). For 30% off your next bill when you spend £15 on food you need 5 points (5 friends), however, this is where the £5 off voucher is a better saving by 50p! ;) and you don't need to invite friends to register!

So it really depends how much you will think you will be spending. Say, Diane65 is going to spend £10 on food then I am happy for her to send me two invites, I can register with two different accounts, and she then unlocks the 20% voucher, spends £10 and gets £2 off! However, if she is likely to spend £15 on food, then it will probably be better for her to use the £5 off voucher. I hope this makes sense. There is a lot of co-ordination here to get the best deal! haha. o/

I did ask about the money off vouchers and whether we can use it against the offers, and as I far as I can understand him he said he thinks that we can, as long as we were not p*ying individually, i.e. if we went for two starters/dessert offers, we have to p*y as one bill. I ask him to confirm it in writing when he confirmed my booking, but he did not! But please can a local ring and check properly as I had a hard job understanding his accent! But the gist is it is possible. Sorry, on the phone it is hard to understand accents, they come out much stronger and it was a very noisy line so that did not help! Especially if it is 40% off the total food bill, rather than just on £20 of food, everyone can eat their heart out and then take 40% off! I am happy to be the banker! ;)

Yes, it so happens that they are! At least we know where to go after we do some sightseeing after the meet up as I am assuming we will do something for a couple of hours in between the meet up and the Ghost Tour? For those that don't want to, they can stay at the bar until the Ghost Tour. Whatever suits! No obligations. After the official meet up, we can do whatever we want.

On another note, I am happy to say, that I have secured some vouchers for Yo! Sushi for the Big Hero 6 Bento Box. So I can make a booking for after the Ghost Tour, please let me know if you are interested, non-locals get priority, I am afraid, if there are too many requests! However, I think I have enough for all FMUKers coming to the Ghost tour. T&Cs does not say vouchers can't be used for large group bookings, but I do not know this until I call to book, and check. If that is the case, we can split up the booking!

The Big Bento Six meals all include 1 Big Bento Six box (Power Prawn or Super Salmon or Chicken Yakitori or Pumpkin Prime or Chicken Katsu or Great Gyoza), 1 Drink (Vita Coco Kids Apple & Blackcurrant or Vita Coco Kids Pineapple & Mango only) and 1 limited edition Power Band (Bands, while stocks last).

I suggest we go to the Princes Street branch as it overlooks the castle, and much bigger than the one in Harvey Nicks.

C on map - Yo! Sushi
1st Floor, 78 Princes Street,
Edinburgh EH2 2ER

A- is the Advocate and B - is the Auld Reekie Ghost Tour, for those who are not local to get their bearings. Yo! Sushi is about 15-20 minutes walk from Auld Reekie

Good work you two o/

OK my hand is up for a YO Sushi voucher please :)

As for all the talk with percentages...my head is spinning, I cant keep up! So just tell me what you want me do. Shall I sign up for something?

Perhaps, if its difficult to coordinate everyone, we keep it simple and opt for the simple individual voucher without all this chain referring? Just a thought :) Well done. If there are long hour gaps in the day, there are lovely places in Edinburgh that we can walk around and chill out in without costing anything apart from the odd snacking ;) For instance, right in the heart of Edinburgh there is a lovely park home to a...volcano! Its an extinct one though :) Nevertheless its a sight to see and from the volcano the view of Edinburgh looks spectacular. We can chill out there. Whats more if its a sunny day, I have a solarscope that we can look through and I'll show you guys the real power and awe of our local star. Just some ideas.

Personally Yo Sushi never really fills me up unless I eat loads. Guess I am a feaster (according to BBC2) so I would a bento box thing as a lunch item. On the map Yo Sushi is actually on Princes Street so C should be actually nearer the point just before it goes onto Hanover Street.

If you have many people interested in going how about just using all vouchers and then sharing the rest of the cost between everyone. I think myself and my wee party are coming to Cosmos after the ghost tour. As a fussy buffet eater I considered Cosmo Edinburgh as one of the better ones and they have a great choice of food at a decent price. Plus it is near where we are staying.

There are plenty to do in the Royal Mile (High Street) if there is a gap in between the actual meet and ghost tour. The Scottish Parliament and Arthur Seat at the bottom end of the mile. Tours in the Scottish Parliament are free but you need to book. There is also the Scottish Storytelling centre, Writers Museum and Museum of Childhood, St Gile's Cathedral which are free to go to. If you want to walk a little then you can go to Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street or the Scottish National Gallery and Royal Scottish Academy are both on the mound.

Thanks Yinster! I myself tend to eat more during the day then at night, "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper!", hehe, better for my digestive system. LOL

The Yo Sushi is on princes Street upstairs though so dont miss the entrance! It's all downhill from the old Town to Princes Street but a walk back up the steps or The Mound back after your meal.

Thanks MrGlass what a brilliant article and now we have the meet up place we can work around this. I really want to see the Botanical gardens but fitting that in when it's right over the other side might be tricky but Dunbar's Close will satisfy my need to see a garden wherever I go. There is so much to see that it's deciding what we can fit in and enjoy. I could do a few options of itineraries and whoever wants to do what is fine.

For anyone staying longer - I think prettyxcool is staying 4 nights - Platform5 which is opposite Haymarket station and next door to the Tune hotel is also a Belhaven pub which has the same offer but you would have to use a different email address to get the £5 off voucher as it is only one voucher per email address for the Belhaven pubs. http://www.platform5-edinburgh.co.uk/offers

The Advocate is a good pub and will be very busy on a Saturday. Have we a private room booked and what time are we meeting there - that is if you know yet?
