the princess sx scene was just satire on the ridiculous scenes in bond movies. how are people not noticing that? the whole movie was a bond franchise spoof from the first lazenby look a like on screen to the grand world ending finale.

From the mouth of Matthew Vaughn: "Even marketing it, it's been a real challenge to get across... the BBC when they did their 2015 preview, they said "the Bond spoof". I'm like, f**k off it's not a spoof!"

spoof is the wrong word true.
its superior to what that word conjures.

The material was a lot less consistent than Kick-Ass, and I was a bit disappointed by the final act, but this was assured, audacious and clever enough to make up for it. It's great fun watching Firth dishing out unspeakable violence as a suave super spy, and Taron Egerton also stood out as the hot-headed but well-meaning lead character. Together with its colourful villains and electric set pieces, this was a thoroughly entertaining homage/send-up of the James Bond films.

8/10

Generally speaking I really enjoyed this, it was slickly made and consistently entertaining.

However, I do have to say that they failed to give this film an authentically 'British' vibe as more often than not it felt like imitation rather than the genuine article.

Performance wise I did feel that quite a few of the cast would have benefited from putting a little more effort into their roles than they did but thankfully Colin Firth was on top form throughout.

It moved along at a fairly brisk pace, had some excellent set pieces (the church based sequence was by far my favourite) and time wise it never outstayed it's welcome.

Overall I thought this was a very decent (albeit imperfect) comic book adaptation that did more than enough to get an 8/10 from me...

Saw this in York with free Times tickets-cinema only two thirds full-shame!
Didn't realise it was going to be so 'tongue in cheek' but enjoyed the spectacle -couldn't help but laugh out loud at the fireworks near the end!

I was slightly disappointed with this film to be honest. Was expecting great things from the 8.2 I saw on IMDB. Don't get me wrong, was a decent film but thought it either needed to be funnier or more serious. just felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be
