The Rebound

#1 Post by Beate » Thu May 13, 2010 9:27 pm

THE REBOUND is a fresh, witty, and sexy comedy about bouncing back.
Sandy's a beautiful, smart, 40-year-old mother (CATHERINE ZETA-JONES - CHICAGO). When she discovers her husband is cheating, she leaves him and takes her two children to New York to start over. She employs a male nanny called Aram (JUSTIN BARTHA- THE HANGOVER). He's 25-years-old. And cute. It's not long before the chemistry clicks and the two of them fall for each other. But is this just a rebound or could it be the real deal...?

Ok, so how stereotypical does this sound? Hands up who knows how this is going to end, right?

Thanks to the wonderful bevvy, I attended the preview at the Vue West End tonight. Hdaniel82 was there too, and she had acutally won a hotel room to go with it! Anyway, there was a free bar which we all enjoyed, then we settled down in the last row, after moving twice due to tall people in front.

I am a sucker for rom-coms but was a bit sceptical at first as I am not Catherine Zeta-Jones' biggest fan, and she was portrayed as this slightly neurotic mother of two who discovers her husband is cheating on her so relocates with her kids to the Big Apple and finds a new job and a flat literally within minutes. Erm...

But you know what, I loved it. OH loved it. hdaniel82 and her OH loved it. It was just so funny and warm, and how gorgeous is Justin Bartha? Blue eyes, huge smile, good with kids... The kids were very funny, Aram's mother looked like Janet Street Porter, and as for that scene in the women's defence class... :bwl:

And yes I know the film won't set the world on fire, it's not groundbreaking or anything but it just leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling, and in my case, with wet eyes, when they met again in the restaurant and he said
"I am 30."
AWWWW :bighug:

8.5/10 and a solid 8/10 from hdaniel82!

Everything Beate says above says is true, I LOVED it, despite being a bit sceptical in the beginning as CZJ literally does relocate with her kids to the Big Apple and find a new job and a flat literally within minutes. But, it gets sooo much better, and Justin Bartha is indeed super cute, and those blue eyes, oooofty!!

Release date is scheduled for the 23rd July I believe they said, so hopefully there will be other previews before then.

As for my free hotel stay, it was LUSH, the OH and I got a room on the top floor in an executive suite of the Regents Park Marriott with a king size bed, and access to the executive lounge in the morning with yummy breakfast included! Was very sad to have to come to work this morning!
Preferred cinemas:
Weekdays: Central London (all West End), West India Quay, Greenwich O2, Vue Islington
Weekends: Greenwich (O2, Odeon, PH), Vue Stratford City, Stratford PH

I wouldn't think so, not as of yet anyway as the film option could change and there aren't any links available for it (that I know of). I'm sure steve9872 will find out everything we need to know in good time with his intelligent ways!

Sounds awesome!!!!! I love breakfast buffets at hotels. What yummy food did you eat?!

Course he will, he is THE man!

I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, a fruit medley with melon and mango, a mango smoothie and some hot chocolate. It ROCKED!

Yep he definitely is, he's the current code guru!

Wow thats one full breakfast! Minus the smoked salmon, everything else is making my mouth water!!! Tease! Anything with mango is always a good sign! :D

PS thanks to steve9872's link, it is showing Sunday 13th June at 10:30am although no actual cinemas have been written.

Again?????? How does one watch the same movie twice???!!! I get so bored second time. :red: Well if it's that good, I must make the effort to go.

I think it might be the Cineworld ones for some reason.... Maybe Haymarket as I've never seen West India Quays on their list... Then again could be Vue again. :P
