What a blast, with great casting/acting.

The usual hokum opposite of the truth about americans getting put on by foreigners (when in reality its the other way around, americans butchering foreigners, and often in the foreigners own countries), even with the balls to call these immigrants "ex-pats" simply because they American, is actually very well put together indeed. Was expecting some bittersweet ending, just short of great because of this.

4 stars, if you can put up with the hypocrisy of the story " I thought we were here to help..." squawks Owen Wilson near the beginning, rather cringeworthingly. yeeeeeh rite. BUT, don't let it detract from a smashingly filmed action movie. But don't cancel your holidays, folks, this wont happen to you!

Back from Glasgow Cineworld. Pretty full screen which is encouraging. Totally enjoyed this non stop experience with Wilson and Bell believable as two parents trying to save their family from the coup and also within their own issues. Lots of action too. Agree that it was like The Impossible and not seeing the local's side to all this.

Had to tell the girl next to me to stop playing on her phone during the film. Totally disinterested in the film so why not leave instead? There were several people who left our screening during it. 7/10

Funny enough I also had to tell someone at the Glasgow showing to turn their phone off.

Totally ridiculous, as the audience laughter at scenes that were meant to be tense proved, with plot holes that you could drive a truck through but nevertheless still enjoyable.

Saw this at kingston last night

About 70% full and as per usual they had the screens house lights on thru out!

Normally I would go and tell a member of staff but as the movie was pretty gripping I waited for someone else to do it for a change, and I didn't want to disturb my neighbours natchocheese again :)

But no body told and we saw the whole 105min movie well lit

At least it made the people who were on their phones not stand out as much in a lit room :)

This was ok action-wise, but I wan't b*ying the storyline or Owen's soft voice. Another case of the trailer looking better than the actual film. 5/10

I didn't expect much and it didn't deliver much. Couldn't get on board with Owen Wilsons character, but mum and kids were pretty good. 4/10

It was OK - but more like a 'first draft' than a final strong blockbuster. Plotholes aplenty...

Not an Owen Wilson fan generally, and not convinced at al here.

As for Pierce Brosnan.... oh dear. Was this meant to be the comic relief?

OK for free, but not worth p*ying for.

I thought this was an excellent film. Very involving and made you fear for your own life at the same time! Very poignant with the refugee crisis in Europe at the moment. Made it all more realistic and understandable.
