Re: Birdman
This got the best picture oscar? Seriously? This boring, pretentious, talkative, psychological crap is the best thing they could come up with last year? It beggars belief.

Re: Birdman
I liked it enough to see it again.
Some of it is sheer brilliance, some of it just grates and is almost nauseous. Loved all the surreal aspects though, although I still don't get the hovering in tighty whities part at the beginning.
Amazing cinematography throughout.

Re: Birdman
Agree with the marmite scenario, I quite enjoyed the film OH kept huffing in his I'm bord, manner. Don't know if I understood all of it but hey that's entertainment. 7
Re: Birdman
astonishing film of utter genius, slightly tainted by one upwards glance.....
9.99999/10
by far the best film of the year
" still don't get the hovering in tighty whities part at the beginning"
he was bat-shit (bird-shit) crazy from the very beginning. nobody else witnesses his "powers" until that "upwards glance"

Re: Birdman
again good filmmaking but 2nd time round the characters grate.
The Andre Ward of films, technically perfect, unbeatable in that respect, but a little boring and dirty to watch 2nd time round.

Re: Birdman
Saw this last night in Edinburgh and it was one of these movies where I could see why it has won the oscar for best movie but then again its not always that I like their winners. I enjoyed it let me say but it was not a film that had me leaving wanting more. Michael Keaton was excellent in the part but I think what it lacked was any real excitement but for a pleasant watch it did its bit.

Re: Birdman
Just re-watched on sky go & it's still fantastic.
Loses little in transition to small screen & amazed how much detail I missed in the cinema.
This is a true classic, on par with All About Eve & Sweet Smell of Success in dissecting actors / acting.
