Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Well now that Kick-Ass is out of the way, I've found it good timing that my other most anticipated film of the year, also an adaptation of an indie comic, has now got a first teaser trailer online.
Watch it here:

So what's it about? Well, Scott falls for this girl called Ramona, has to defeat her seven evil exes to go out with her, yada yada. All you need to know is it's really geeky, with constant references to video games, comics, etc. In fact, the hugely positive test screening response has included comments calling it the geekiest film ever made. But don't let put you off if you're not into the glorious counter-culture - Scott Pilgrim is a surrealist, humorous action romance - it'll appeal to younger people more, for sure, but both genders love the comic. In fact, it was namedropped in Kick-Ass (the film) as one of the comics Dave Lizewski's love interest is reading despite not being into superheroes etc.
Anywho, it has a terrific cast, headed up by Michael Cera who will be relieved that he won't have to hold up the whole film like Atlas, as he's had to do with a number of pictures the last few years. Further, one of my favourite British directors is at the helm - Edgar Wright, who brought us Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, though his sitcom Spaced is perhaps the closest in form and style to this project. That was arguably the best British sitcom of all time, and the fact that he's teaming up with a lead and a supporting actress from the best sitcom of all time, no question, makes me drool. The supporting cast includes The Human Torch/Captain America (Chris Evans), Superman (Brandon Routh), comic genius Jason Schwartzman and, er, Macaulay Culkin's brother. Who's actually been the highlight of the film for many.
Anywho, as with Kick-Ass we get this a little sooner than American audiences, yippee! Released in August.

The additional minute duration allowed even more awesomeness to explode my eyes. Heavenly looking.

This looks like it's going to be a good one.
Fingers crossed that there's some free screenings in the North East.
