As already mentioned this was not a fast paced movie, I did however enjoy it and Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara gave excellent performances. I did not feel it dragged and was actually surprised that it was 2 hours long as it had not felt like it when watching. Would I have pa*d....No but glad I went anyway. 7/10

I managed to see this yesterday and I actually really enjoyed it. It was one of those films that sucked you in right away into this 50's atmosphere with stunning visuals. The story itself, I agree, was a little slow at times but in a way it allowed Blanchett and Mara room to really shine and the characters to really breathe on screen. Ultimately I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

I loved this film - my front runner for best film this year, I think.

Finally saw this yesterday. Lovely little film with two excellent performances from Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara. However I found some parts of the plot quite contrived and I felt quite detached from the characters. Beautiful cinematography and a lovely score from Carter Burwell which was very reminiscent of Philip Glass' work for "The Hours".

Film of the year for me. Just love Todd Haynes' work with his 'Far From Heaven' also a favourite. Blanchett and Mara on exquisite form. Managed to catch it in 35mm as well which was cinematic HEAVEN. A shame it was snubbed for best picture but presume the depiction of strong women in no need of men didn't go down well with the mostly older male academy. Hope it wins for Screenplay and Score though.
