We have a few complimentary tickets available to the MATINEE performance of Enron, at the Noel Coward Theatre at 2.30pm Wednesday 9th June

About the ENRON:

The only difference between me and the people judging me is they weren't smart enough to do what we did.

One of the most infamous scandals in financial history becomes a theatrical epic. Mixing classical tragedy with savage comedy, it follows a group of flawed men and women in a narrative of greed and loss which reviews the tumultuous 1990s and casts a new light on the financial turmoil in which the world finds itself in 2009.

Based on real life and using music, movement and video, ENRON will be directed by Headlong Theatre's Artistic Director Rupert Goold in his Royal Court directorial debut. His recent credits include the award-winning Macbeth and Six Characters in Search of an Author and King Lear, No Man's Land and Oliver!

Lucy Prebble won the George Devine Award and the Critics Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright for her debut play The Sugar Syndrome at the Royal Court in 2004.

Click here to download tickets: https://www.showfilmfirst.com/pin/305276

Please not ShowFilmFirst vouchers need to be redeemed for tickets at the box office between 5.30pm and 6.15pm on the day of the show. Strictly no late admittance.

About the Show

Each year a brilliant show is put on at the Cochrane Theatre to present the Tim Williams Award for best new song, this year there is a great line up of singers and musicians for you to enjoy.

OUT OF THE PIANO features the world premiere of 24 songs composed by 17 vibrant British composers to lyrics drawn from classical/establish texts not originally intended for such and as specifically written for 24 West End voices.

Among the 24 noted West End singers taking part are:
REBECCA CAINE (the original Cosette from ‘Les Mis’), DIANNE PILKINGTON (of ‘Wicked’ fame, currently in ‘The 39 Steps’), HELENA BLACKMAN (of BBC’s ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’), MARILYN CUTTS (one of the originators of ‘Fascinating Aida’), LAURA PITT-PULFORD (‘Sunset Boulevard’s’ Betty), ANTON STEPHENS (a Porgy from ‘Porgy and Bess’) and NIGEL RICHARDS (a recent Phantom in ‘Phantom’). The noted actress LISA DILLON (late of ‘Private Lives and a NT, RSC, Almeida veteran) will make a guest appearance.

Lyrics to be celebrated in OUT OF THE PIANO range from William Shakespeare to Noel Coward; from Elizabeth I to Jane Austen. Personages portrayed in song will range from Dracula and T. E. Lawrence to Maria Callas and Frances L Clayton, a woman who disguised herself in men’s clothes to fight with her husband in the American Civil War.

OUT OF THE PIANO is the third event in the Tim Williams Award Scheme, presented in memory of the London Shakespeare Workout’s late Musical Director. Cash awards will be presented at the evening’s end in support of excellence in the composition of theatrical song.

Not trying to dupe Milkchocmonkey's post, but I've included their new email, which includes a plead from them that people actually turn up! Otherwise they might not be able to carry on!

MATINEES TOMORROW - Enron and As You Like It

We have just received a few complimentary tickets for two matinee performances tomorrow, Wednesday 23rd June

Please make sure you only take tickets for shows you can definitely attend….

There is a risk we cant carry on if people book tickets then don’t turn up.

We appreciate that sometimes there is a rush for tickets (see below a system we are implementing to give you an early alert opportunity). However, please check before you download tickets that you can actually go. Cancelling is no help as its too late to refill.

PLEASE, PLEASE, Help us give you more shows by turning up if you book tickets.

AS YOU LIKE IT:

Apologies if you requested these tickets – we have had an email nightmare so having to send on general mailout again – sorry!
