The Death of Stalin
Utter shite.
The only film I've ever walked out on twice on two weeks.
Those responsible should be ashamed of themselves.

Re: The Death of Stalin
this looked really bad from the trailer, I was hoping it was just a poor trailer but ...
Russians with American accents was that a kind of running joke?

Re: The Death of Stalin
Saw this at Odeon Screen Unseen last week and thought it was Armando Iannuci at his finest.
An excellent and frequently laugh out loud script and a fantastic cast including Simon Russell Beale, Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor, Jason Isaacs, Andrea Riseborough, Michael Palin, Rupert Friend, Paul Whitehouse, Olga Kurylenko and Paddy Considine (in a decent if small role) make this a must see for fans of The Thick of it and Veep.
Some may find the humour a little too dark at times but Iannucci brings out the inherent absurdity and ruthless back-stabbing of Russian politics brilliantly.
Having the actors keep their own accents may seem an odd choice but it only helps to heighten the absurdity making it even funnier.
A frequently hilarious, deliciously pitch black comedy.
So good I'm seeing it again tomorrow.

Re: The Death of Stalin
A great satire. I didn't expect to enjoy this film, but several laugh out loud moments and some good performances all round.

Re: The Death of Stalin
I saw this today with Sweet Sunday. It was a very clever satire of some truly horrendous events. It was very, very cleverly fine and I dudnt find the accents distracting, I actually found I probably listened more carefully to the dialect rather than filtering out bad accents. Fabulous score too. Not too hard to see this today another country another despot leader....

Enjoyed every moment and the dialogue was fantastic. 10 out of 10!
