A fairytale/fantasy thriller, but totally unique, compelling and fascinating. It is charming and unsettling at the same time.

A rather strange and odd looking customs officer at a Swedish ferry border control uses her sense of smell to sniff out if someone is hiding something. She thinks she's ugly because she is different. Who is to say what is beautiful or not? Then one day along comes a man who looks just like her, but totally opposite in character, he is confident and brash, while she is quiet and uncertain. Beautifully filmed and outstanding performances.

Really recommend.

Saw Mark Kermode's unrevealing review and was immediately intrigued.
The film is beguiling but it is also quite shocking in places; it deals with unsettling ideas. Be warned- not for the faint hearted.
