Re: Inception
Yeah if I knew they were gonna pull this bullshit my mate could have actually made it. Such crap. And I really don't wanna get home as late as it'll be now with this delay.

Re: Inception
Managed to get off work early (again
)
I'm going to do a long post about my experience with this preview at Empire last night!
I wasn't looking forward to his film, firstly because I don't like Leonardo DiCaprio (some of you might be shocked but he's not the same like Jack in Titanic!) and secondly after my friends told me that the film was over 2.5hrs long I just thought 'oh I better stop drinking this flat McDs coke in case I wake from being bored sleep and need to go toilet' and thirdly, we read that it 'requires thinking caps'!?!?! Great when I wanted to de-stress from work?!
The seats itself was better than the big screening for Karate Kid because I sit up straight so when the seats in KK screening MOVED, I actually sat up straight for the WHOLE film! So when these seats DIDN'T move I was like YAY until now, my bum aches because the seats were too HARD
.
The guy telling us to switch our phones off was scary and the usher (trying) to shout out loud for us to move along was silly. Luckily my friend and friend's BF saved me and my (girl)friend seats and quickly sat down when the usher was being
! I was seated probably 5 rows from the back and couldn't believe how PACKED it was! All I could smell was BO....and I was trying to avoid the guy who was taking pictures of us audience! I felt sorry for the row who sat behind my friend who is over 6ft tall lolz though I do remember turning around and seeing a boy that's like aged 10-11?! Also, the ushers or scary people walking up and down whilst we watched the film made me nervous lolz I could see them watching me in the corner of my eye so I tried to not fidget but then I think it made me look more suspicious!
Anyways when I heard japenese, I didn't even realise there were subs! I just sat up and laughed for the sake of it lolz. I liked Arthur's character! I think he was cute! At the beginning I was very confused but managed to sort of understand some parts...I think this film was better than I thought because I actually thought it was a thriller, like L.DiCpario was some assasin. I was quite touched/sad in some parts. I couldn't stop laughing when
Mal pops up in the third dream layer at Snow bit and shoots Fischer
Please can someone explain
how Cobb planted the idea into Mal? I understand that he found her spinning top which was meant to be something to keep her sane/distinguish between reality and dream but then how did Cobb plant the idea when all he did was spung the spinning top and back into the safe?
I think the ending
is to trick us all! My friend's BF was like 'BET IT'S GOING TO FALL' but I knew it wouldn't so it makes us 'think'
I'm planning to watch this again but with my BF so I can understand more!
Let's all dream
Overall: 6.75 / 10

Re: Inception
Stratford Picturehouse being incompetent aside, it's even better a second time. It's easier to make the necessary connections. As for the ending, in my mind I'm certain about it and it's what I thought originally. I was looking for reason to believe otherwise but couldn't see it.

Re: Inception
I think that last shot is a bit of a red herring. It's drawn out purposely but it does begin to waver just before the cut. That wouldn't have happened in a dream. I think the significance is more in him leaving it all behind and focusing on what is real for him- namely his children.
Started 40 minutes late.Beate wrote:No I meant what was going on at the cinema?
This was because everyone had to queue at the box office. This was so we could receive actual tickets. Which were allocated seating. Seemingly random. The seats in the very middle didn't fill up until the very end. SO those who turned up later got centre-centre seating. It was just beyond stupid. This was compounded by the fact that there were loads of people in that queue getting tickets for Shrek 3 or Predators and there was just one woman at the box office.
I complained very loudly to themanager before the start of the film and all he said was that's what he was told to do.

Re: Inception
The Greenwich Picturehouse usually makes you queue up for proper tickets too, but for previews they are usually General Admission, i.e. you can sit where you want so there's never a real problem. I would complain in an email to the cinema and to SFF or whoever provided this screening.
